  4.  @rahulbhot1963  I did not comment about Hinduis with respect to Buddhism , Jainism, Ajivika or Charvaka philosophy. Despite whatever narrative nagpur spins, Hindus are scripturally those who accept the authority of the Vedas as the fountainhead of spiritual knowledge. As for the crimes perpetrated by the followers of hinduism, the wiser hindus know that Ravana was also an ardent Bhakt of Bhagawan Shiva and yet committed various despicable acts - the responsibility of those acts lie on Ravana and Ravana alone - there is a similar element of personal responsibility of each jeevatma in the story of Maharishi Valmiki who rejected dacoity and became a saint when his wife and son refused to share the burden of the sins he committed to feed them. As for Indian obsession with religion compared to say a european obsession with rationalism, i would suggest that it is not necessary to base the value of the religion on its provable historicity - but rather the values of te enlightenment and the values of hinduism are both philosophical schools of thought that shape society. Humanity is not purely mechanical and men are not machines. These philosophies and cultures inspire us and drive us forward individually and as a society - the superiority of western enlightenment values now comes into question with what world it has created including such things like the immigrant crisis in europe - but the fundamental thing is that scientific progress and technology is not partial to only one set of philosophical ideologies - to use the history of the dark ages brought about by christianity to judge Hinduism is simplistc, unfair and ignorant.
