@RB-ns2nn Bharat existed before that. The oldest literature of Tamil language "Thirukkural" talks about "Aram" which is "Dharma" . Political unity of India was never acheived completely not even by the Mauryas. But the civ8lisational identity of India predates all recorded historical evidence available. It is attacks against this civilisational identity that the children of Bharat need to be vigilant against.

@chinmaydubey4710 chanakyas aim of political unity was driven by his Dharma as an adviser to a ruler. His aim was not the spread of Dharma. Using such figures to create a narrative is a necessity in the current political scenario, but truth is much more complicated and subtle...

@StarSprangledBanner what caused the british to leave? The quit india movement that ended in 1944? Or the series of mutinees and the discontent among the Indian armed forces serving under the british crown due to the actions of bose? The quit India movement was as effective as the first non cooperation movement...

@StarSprangledBanner was INC the main reason or the INA and its effect on Indian soldiers serving under the british? Why is there no common knowledge of the naval mutinees preceding Independence? What role did they have on the british decision to leave ?

@StarSprangledBanner keep in mind that the "India" you talk about consisted of 550 princely states, was still extremely fragmented and disorganised with sufficient opportunity for racist, casteist, communal and linguistic divisions for any colonisers to continue exploiting.

@StarSprangledBanner the articles i share keep disappearing. Just read about the Bombay Naval Mutiny and who inspired it... Also do read about the quit India movement and its impact...

@StarSprangledBanner https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Indian_Navy_mutiny Try reading the "impact" section and cross reference the details. Try reading the part about the INA. My question to you is, does this factor deserve the attention it gets in the government syllabus of Indian history? Is the nature of discontent among Indians (and the impact it had on the british withdrawal ) well taught correctly? Or is the ghost of gandhi still used for "nation building" while still sacrificing truth (ironically while chanting "satyameva jayate".)

@smartlearning6390 Netaji himself said "give me blood and i will give you freedom". And yet he was not successful in that. Maybe 8nstead of basing your perception of history based on bhakti towards freedom fighters, you could analyse history objectively. Then you might actually be able to acknowledge that there is no "father of the nation" and that the british left out of fear of cascading mutinies and armed rebellions by former members of INA

@06.vineethdsouza80 are you suggesting that we should declare hitler as the father of the nation?
1
@whatever5655 so gandhi wasnt the father of the nation and independence was not won through peaceful nonviolent satyagraha? Instead the collapse of Britain's colonial empire was the consequence of a series of complex events well beyond the control of any one individual and nation state? What a revolutionary approach to analysing history!

@whatever5655 i cannot refrain from wondering when truth, with all its complexities and nuance, will be taught as history. I recall the national motto of the "Republic of India" to be something similar to "Satyameva Jayate". I dont think that translates to "Gandhi is our father" or "Peace alone triumphs" or even "Socialism is cool". But then again i might be mistaken...

@smartlearning6390 did gandhi create this civilisation of Bharat in 1947?
