@gabru448 tell me, did you study the economic survey 2022? How much had the manufacturing sector grown? How many startups and unicorns have been added in 2021? How many entrepreneurs have been groomed by the Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 2021?
As for your original question regarding trade deficit with china, that is because china is the factory of the world. India can grow while imposing global economic isolation of pakistan, but the same cannot be done when china produces 20+% of global goods. However that can be countered by increasing local manufacturing - like how manufacturing in India increased by 15% (equivalent to doubling of economic value with compounded growth in every 5 years) while merchandise exports have reached record high targets. PLI schemes being introduced invite not just FDI, but also encourage local private players like Ather, Ultraviolet, Renew power, Vikram Solar, Skilllync, Acko, Groww, Micromax, etc. Even the framing of these policies has led to chinese manufacturers assembling phones for India in India, in places like Noida. In other sectors like medical goods such as vaccines, the govt handholding of private entities has led to unimaginable growth(unimaginable by Indian standards) despite various costly hiccups. Meanwhile industries like copper, that fell victim to local politics (like in the Vedanta sterlite plant in Thoothukodi, Tamil Nadu) affect the national economy, turning the country from a net exporter of copper to a net importer.
The problem of unemployment will be solved only by the private sector. In a situation where Delhi has more startups added than Bengaluru in 2021-2022, where 500 + districts in India have atleast 1 startup, controlling corporate tax at mid range while pushing infrastructure for long term sustainable economic growth seems like the best bet in a world battling pandemics and climate change.
Hope this answers your question. If it doesnt, tell me why or what you disagree with.
