Truth of this contreversy is that no other empire has had an entire chapter dedicated to itself other than the mughal empire. All the NCERT did is to remove this privileged position for the inglorious mughal empire and assimilate it into the history of medieval India.

@nazneentonse6768 One ought to refer the history textbook for the year 2020 to form a clear judgement rather than rely on memory of ones own textbook to understand the issue and my comment. There is no point on relying on memory when the source material is available and accessible. Alternatively you can refer to the video on the same topic in the channel "world affairs" to look at the index of the actual textbook to understand the issue better, rather than relying on personal memory to draw political conclusions about this topic...

@nazneentonse6768 i have no words to say if you think 15 mins is "longish". You can bring the horse to water but you cannot make the horse drink...

@nazneentonse6768 if all empires are equally interesting or equally boring then either every empire deserves its own chapter or no empire deserves exclusive treatment. Either way, exceptional treatment of detailed study of only the mughal empire then seems unnecessary. But i am amused that you unwittingly agreed to the bjp govts temporary action of rationalisation of history syllabus by removing the entire chapter on thw mughal empire...

@nazneentonse6768 https://youtu.be/WMBFFLF-Tvw This vid shows the index of the textbook in question. Explain to me why only one empire deserves an exclusive chapter in a complex history containin multiple empires and kingdoms?

@nazneentonse6768 it would be weird only if the sylabbus of all subjects didnt change with the passage of time... with new methods in feilds like carbon dating and genetic sequencing and new discoveries in the field of archeology amd literature the understanding of history will get refined over time - for example there is increasing mountain of evidwnce that the mythical saeaswati river system corresponds to the gagar hakra river systwm around which majority of indus valley sites including rakhigiri are centred, suggesting that the indus valley civilisation is the vedic civilisation or its precursor...

@nazneentonse6768 i am amused by many things, that is a trait that i have that works to my credit, i doubt it had any willful contribution from your part. Like i said - you can lead a horse to water but...

Why mughal empire alone has entire chapter dedicated to it in histoey syllabus while the influence of various empires that existed for longer periods and had influence over large areas of south east asia like the tamil Cholas are given only few paragraphs in NCERT syllabus? Do mughals deserve entire chapter just because they ruled from delhi?
