Shunning the Gangetic plain hindutva model of BJP in southern states is necessary for the BJP because the history of southern states are different both from the history of north India and the history of other states (like between Kerala and Tamil Nadu). BJP should instead promote Tamil culture and literature in Tamil Nadu along with usual social and economic policy based on sound reasoning and impartial progressive values (as opposed to the pseudosecularism of dravidian parties who regulate and financially control Tamil temples while turning a blind eye to the atrocities of other communities.) Similarly in Kerala, opportunities exist for new emerging issues like climate change, digitisation, economic sustainability, infrastructure, etc. in which BJP could influence policy as an alternate opposition while maintaining and clearly communicating the follies of Kerala's unsustainable economic model.

@scienceisreligion5618 science should also be promoted because science encourages social progress. Any assumption that promoting culture and science are diametrically opposite things is just a naive assumption that does not take into consideration the nature of either cultures or scientific practices. Scientific temper is no substitute for historical and social precedents. No scientific formula can replace the beauty of Tamil poetry or philosophies. But similarly Tamil culture wont solve issues like waterlogging in chennai, or similar problems resulting from the ongoing climate crisis either. As i see it, both are necessary and very rarely are they in mutual contradiction. But when they are (like in jallikettu) thats when politics become interesting. Its ironic though how Thirukkural promotes vegetarianism and shuns alcohol, while nowadays the dravidian governments are the ones regulating and pushing alcoholism to drive up state revenue. Thats how good they are at promoting tamil culture.
