  2.  @Iansclipsandbits Unfortunately there is no official legal route into the UK for these people but once they are here we are obliged to process them. That’s the current law. Of course there was a time when we could have sent them straight back to the last safe country they entered from and that’s when we were in the EU. Ironic?

  3. Doesn’t always work. Look at some of the poor people that paid into the system for 50 years that were sent back to the Caribbean not knowing a soul.

  4. They are applying for asylum. We are obliged to process them.

  5. Does this mean you are happy for them to remain and not contribute? After all they are currently not allowed to work if applying for asylum. Wouldn’t it be better for them to be put in certain jobs that need to be filled and for them to pay into the system?
