  1. ⁠​⁠​⁠ @ancietman But countries like Germany still have most of their manufacturing in place. The old chestnut of they will need us more than we need them doesn’t wash. TheUK just bolts bits together now for other countries. Everywhere is in recession but people will still want to buy German cars. The Tories have sold everything off, all our utilities are owned mainly by Europe with the Aussies and China being major shareholders in some water companies. London is now over 52% owned by the Dubai royal family including 23% of Heathrow and places that should have never been sold like Chelsea Barracks. The EU red tape you mention is mainly because of them paying farmers large subsidies to leave parts of their farms in fallow which they’ve ignored. Why should a farmer get diesel at much lower costs than the public? At the end of the day people were warned but insisted it would be better, yes we’ve had Covid & Ukraine etc but on top of that the countries imposed trading restrictions on itself which is utter madness! Why do I want to eat beef that’s taken a week to get here and pumped full of hormones when I can go to the meat market in London and buy meat at cost? The actual price rises seen so far are nothing compared to what’s coming as three different stages of non tariff price rises are happening this year. You are seeing tubs of spreadable butter in security boxes at over £7 for half a kilo ffs. It’s been a shit show end of. The excuse of “what about over there” isn’t really a concern as I live in the UK and an only concerned with putting food on my families table and not someones in Berlin. All that aside Brexit was only about making the wealthy even richer at the expense of us plebs on the street. Yes, it’s happened but to keep trying to find excuses to say we are better off is delusional.

  2.  @TheNotAlrightShow That’s because the EU has started to remove subsidies on farmers that didn’t abide by the rules ( leave part of their farms in fallow for one example) and also apply tax on farm diesel. They are throwing their teddies out of the tractor. Here in the UK farmers have to now put up with loss of huge subsidies from the EU that the government ( Gove ) promised them. Fancy believing that?

  6. Depends what year you are looking at. Have you included the fontainbleau abatement for that year? The whole point of being in the EU was not just to pay them money to keep but for free flowing trade and business which as you may be aware of is that the cost of todays losses are far more than what we paid out in the long term. The government were never going to match the subsidies the EU have to farmers. Anyone who thinks that is deluded. Hence we are where we are, all thanks to myopic voting to leave the EU. And if you still think we are better off out than in then why not ask all the prominent businesses and people ( Jacob RMogg a good start ) as to why they moved their money and businesses to the very same evil empire they told you to get rid of….

I was in the lakes first summer after Covid and everywhere was closing at 8pm in August thanks to no staff. English won’t go and work for minimum wage. Too lazy. If you think Brexit is good go and ask someone from any of the areas that have been shat on. Couldn’t believe it when the north actually thought that Bojo the liar was going to sort you out. 😂
