@martinbonner2585 Most pensioners are mortgage free. They are also Tory & Brexit voters so they are the real reason the country is knackered. Now they don’t stop moaning about Drs appointments even though their myopic voting caused the problem.

@MrTudwud I was talking about the real reason we are in such a state as a country. That’s because 14 years of continual Tory rule and divide whilst they were knee deep in the trough giving millions to their mate’s. It’s a given that most pensioners will or did vote Tory because they have all bought their homes with a big discount and have worked and don’t care about anyone but themselves. They do where I used to live before moving back to London. Once Brexit happened they then started (and didn’t stop) moaning about getting a Dr’s or Dentists appointment even though they voted to send thousands away. As for train drivers pay & conditions I wager I know a lot more than you considering I was an instructor & driver for 33 years. Of course you can read another article in the Mail and try and prove me wrong…..

@MrTudwud The strikes were nothing to do with pensioners. They were to do with pay & conditions. As I’ve already mentioned it’s the counties pensioners that gave a liar who can’t remember how many children he has an 80 seat majority. They also voted for Brexit. Thats costing us over 100 million plus a year and trade is down 15% Time pensioners stopped using a fuel allowance they should have never got in the first place as the rain train staff are finally getting a well earned pay increase.

@jpldriver Not forgetting all the years of train staff losing money fighting for decent conditions. Anyone who gets - Weekends, bank holidays, Protection at work, maternity/paternity pay, annual leave etc etc can thank unions and their members fighting for them and not the management who wouldn’t give you anything at all if they could get away with it.
2
So do you expect a driver that’s just finished a long shift to then carry on? You comment highlights just how important drivers are - no driver, no train running and no getting to work, home, school, Hospital, holiday etc etc etc Now apply that logic to someone in the private sector who hasn’t shown up for a meeting..

Guess who has to fix the train when the technology fails? Just saying….

Fully auto won’t happen on the mainline and will be another 20-30 years on the tube
1
@ronnierush9379 Train wheels do often get flats, especially in autumn.
1
@MrTudwud But that’s not the fault of train drivers is it?
1
@esharp13 Actually it’s not. Management thought they were doing great work by getting rid of spare drivers. It has backfired.
1
@paulhiggins6024 You can’t compare the DLR with a mainline train that goes in excess of 100 mph and takes 2 miles to stop paul.
1
How many passengers does a fully loaded plane hold? Now times that by 3 for a fully loaded tube train.
1
Technically they book on at one location and sign in, then walk to their depot, siding etc. so yes, they would be paid - AS THEY ARE WORK YOU SAUSAGE.

@atackio1316 Please stay away from plug sockets

Most of them sitting in homes bought for at massive discounts now worth so much that none of our children will ever be able to afford the shed in the garden. Moaning about money they shouldn’t have got anyway.

@ChristineSutherwood It’s satire Christine but it obviously works on some people. Good old divide and rule tactics. Working class on the right leaning side of the political spectrum love to take a dig at anyone earning reasonable money. Fought for by years of unions backing up their members.

RMT haven’t been affiliated with Labour for years Sid.

Spoken like a true warehouse worker😂

@IanKnowles-oe6dg Sell up and move to the sunshine. Then they can also get a Drs appointment the same day.
1
@IanKnowles-oe6dg And all the mugs that voted for Farage can still proclaim he’s a man of the people..
1
If you had a boat like a dogs arse you’d have the hump too.
1
It is computerised. Guess who has to fix the computer that controls the train when it goes wrong??
1
Pensioners money isn’t the fault of train drivers david. It’s the plonkers that kept voting for the Tories.
1
Talking rubbish. How long does it take to train as a bus driver? About 9 months less than someone on the front of a train. What happens when the bus breaks down? The driver calls for help and gets everyone off. A train driver spends up to a year defect and stock handling and has to know how to fault find and get the train moving. Then there’s the route knowledge, rules and regulations, high voltage and fire training, depot knowledge and a continual yearly stock and rules course to go through. Stop reading the Sun.

😂 Load of twaddle.

Thanks Andrew. It’s not 65K. It’s 79 plus 11 weeks annual leave. Nearly as much as a comedian.
