  3.  @gregmoore167  Not everything in Waitrose is more expensive than other supermarkets. Obviously if you want to buy things like ready meals or certain niche products then yes but the quality is far higher. I haven’t shopped in my local Tescos for years as the experience is horrible. It’s like the M25 on a Monday morning whatever time you go in, constant crashing of trolleys with others and always long Qs Waitrose always seems more chilled out and I’ve never had to Q at the till. I don’t buy meat there as get it from Smithfield market once every 4 months and we use Lidls for other stuff apart from fruit n veg as it only lasts 2 days at best so we go to the local farmers for that and our eggs.

  14.  @jonathanhicks140  You make some good points Jonathan, the only problem is that people will always vote with their pockets rather than their heads. UK public have no loyalty when it comes to buying food hence why they sold our farmers and fisherman down the river all in favour for cheap crap from the other side of the world.

  15.  @jonathanhicks140  Yes, isn't it funny that all these people like the cheap beer merchant ( who imo has helped decimate our locals ) advocate for coming out of Europe with false promises of much cheaper home grown food. Now we are spending 40 to 50% more on our shopping and our own farmers and fishermen are steadily going out of business with rising costs and their loss of EU subsidies. We had 2 butchers where I live now both closed and 10 village pubs with only one remaining. I can't stand these people who pretend to think they are patriots yet won't shop locally. I totally get your point with seasonal produce and whilst I do buy things like bananas/kiwis & mangos because we all love them in our house we always buy British Apples, pears and veg etc. Same goes for our meat. Why on earth would you want to eat NZ lamb when ours is the best in the world? I only went into one of the hair bear bunches pubs once and that was to get a cup of coffee. I refuse to give my money to people like him.
