@paullegend6798 My idea of sending anyone who does not qualify for asylum to the Falklands in winter will have a better chance of knocking it all on the head, cheaper too. Why pay Rwanda millions for nothing when we could use the money to employ hundreds more staff to clear the back logs?

@paullegend6798 Leaving the EU has put us in this position as we had more rights to send anyone back under Dublin lll but it was never applied correctly. Now we are out we are a third country and are legally obliged to process them which is running a year behind. Country has gone imo, one reason I'm leaving asap.

They can’t be penalised because of English law enshrined in the 1951 refugee convention

@illegalopinions4082 No you don’t. Someone seeking asylum can apply in any country they choose to. Have you still not read the rules??

@jimthompson9370 They can use anyway they want Jim. There is no legal route in but they know they can’t be penalised once here because of the 1951 convention

@stoicsceptic8420 Before Brexit we had the Dublin regulation. If an asylum seeker had been fingerprinted in another safe country we were legally allowed to send them straight back. Now we are a third country after you patriots choose not to read the rules properly but pick bits out from the Sun etc we cannot do that as we’ve left the EU….. Well done. It’s your fault.

@stoicsceptic8420 Word salad. Yes you are to blame. The usual blaming the EU or other countries does not wash as regardless of what’s happening there we don’t live in those countries. In the grand scheme of things we only take in a small percentage in compared to those countries. The main difference is that we now have NO way of sending anyone back to anywhere thanks to people voting the wrong way - those people are the ignorant ones.

The UK Supreme Court ruled that Rwanda isn’t a safe country. The House of Lords hasn’t agreed with it either. Maybe give them a bell.

@benjibeal1 There isn’t one. That doesn’t stop anyone from going through whatever route they choose to. Same applies for where someone wants to apply for asylum.

You can apply in any country you choose to.

We had one in 2016 and the patriots voted to make the UK a third country hence they are to blame.

There’s no legal or official route in to claim asylum. They can’t be penalised because of the 1951 convention

@sirrobinofloxley7156 I can’t comment on what you say but in this context if the UK ignored the ECHR and sent people to Rwanda then they would fall foul of international law and then you would be bringing further problems and possibly sanctions from the EU and the US. It was never going to work imo and the money spaffed to Rwanda could have been directed to employing more staff to process the backlogs. Why give Rwanda millions for nothing when we could have sent anyone who was processed accordingly to the Falklands. Once word got out how cold it was they might stop coming.
