How would you do that if it’s taken out your wages before you are paid? Do you mean council tax?
3
@nickcoppard5335 Because they can’t. Bravermans boat bill has already been pulled to pieces by lawyers far more competent than her.
3
@davidrobertsemail No Billy. As I’ve mentioned elsewhere they can apply anywhere they want. Safe country rules only apply if they have family members with settled status in another country. We can’t send them back under the Dublin agreement because we ARE NO LONGER IN THE EU.
3
@SA-ff9uc You've missed my point. Not surprised though.
3
What a lovely human. Your parents must be proud of their good work..
3
@campbell3711 Ah, so even though there’s lots more flooding in now we’ve got a Tory government and left the EU you think it’s better? 🤩 Amazing 🙄
3
They should. About time we had a general strike. Nurses pay and conditions are nothing to do with rail workers. Looks like you've been gaslit Allan.
3
@elkpaz560 there were recruitment offices opened up in the Caribbean by the NHS and London Transport. They wanted to recruit well educated people to do jobs they couldn’t get the English to touch.
3
Q all the reform echo chamber saying it’s a fix because Dennis from Gt Yarmouth didn’t get his voting paper in time because he was on holiday in Dubai complaining about Muslims
3
Strange concept considering if the Tories or Reform were in charge you’d all be out of a job within 18 months
3
We aren’t in the EU anymore Franck. Those rules no longer apply…
3
Why would the UAE take Albanians?
3
Yes, let's go and loot a Vape shop...
3
Lots of nurses are busy getting bonuses to stop people getting PIP awards.
3
The rail companies biggest expense is workers ( especially drivers ) salaries. One reason they keep mentioning them on various media outlets to wind up the silly people. They have trying to dumb down the various grades for years so they can use it as an excuse to pay less. They are also hoping to make the conditions worse in the hope that people leave which saves them paying out.
3
Get a bike.
3
I would say have a word with your MP but as its Peter Bone you've got more chance in Wellingborough being voted prettiest Town in the UK than ever getting a reply, he's far too busy telling everyone to tighten their belts as he claims another 200k in expenses... .
3
Won't happen.
3
You need to look at the managers salaries which far outstrip those of train drivers. Most of them only do 6 hours a day and a lot of them sit watching the TV .
3
Won't work with drivers Chappers. Some contractual jobs like cleaning yes but not many other people will be able to just jump into a job. It ain't a warehouse.
3
@petermorris3665 If you have ever worked on the railway then you would realise why you need to join a union.
3
5 years min
3
Enjoy😂
3
Not really. Shareholders earn massive amounts of money in wages and bonuses but you won't see any of them at 2.30 am in winter prepping a train for service.
3
@lyndagripton4406 Only if you want a private only health service
3
It’s how people down the pub speak - nothing new. I’m more concerned with what Reform will do to the NHS.
3
@johnross2924 🤣 Nah , I'm inglish so that makes me an expat doesn't it? Either way, I'm happy to be called anything as long as I can get off this Island. 🤞
3
BREXIT and paying businesses furlough money that's caused it. Nothing to do with strikes.
3
Brexit party 2.0 no thanks.
2
@ally11488 She's too busy at Dover, full on karen mode watching the rubber boats coming in.
2
OR we could forget the pay rise and allow rail workers to claim for travel, food, housing ( in London ) council tax, motor vehicles, and clothing. Just like an MP. Sorted.
2
Caribbean foods far better than English stodge.
2
So you support the unions but find strike action disgraceful? Makes complete sense. No it doesn't. I'm confused.
2
@user-ug8wx5er1w Gammon isn’t a race.
2
Ain't going to happen. Have you not worked out why the trains in Europe are cheaper? Driverless trains are a fantasy. Normally spouted by people that have no clue how the railways operate.
2
@dangerousfables What's next ? Let's make mainline trains that travel at 120mph driverless and automatic. I volunteer you for the first run . Sit you in the driving cab.
2
Imagine getting nearly 90grand a year plus expenses for everything, a 4 day week that you don’t have to turn up to and nearly 20 weeks off on holidays plus weekends. No wonder they Rishi & his mates never goes sick. Still have the exceptions of MPs showing private parts online or watching tractor videos then putting it all down to the stress of the job though…. Easy life for being a professional grifter.
2
You've pretty much hit the nail on the head. The elite first started the divide and conquer years back when Thatcher got as many people to buy their council houses then ramp up the interest rates a few years later. Fast forward to recent times and they spent a decade winding up everyone over foreigners taking jobs and homes to push Brexit ( a rich man's fantasy ) thru in order to top up their hedge funds in the Cayman Islands. The working class are the most gullible people in the UK. 🐑
2
@bonafidelore Another self employed patriot. 👏🏻
2
@lat1419 I think what was meant was who owns the property in Mayfair to which aclark is correct. 52% of London is now Qatari owned with most of the big hotels, one Hyde parks building, chelsea barracks & even 20% of Heathrow airport.
2
It’s been wonderful over the last 14 years. Even better when liz the cabbage trebled everyone’s mortgages.
2
@henrydemonfreid1985 Agreed.
2
Not allowed now as the UK has third country status thanks to areas like Lincolnshire.
2
You can get £13 an hour working in Aldis. Change your job and stop comparing yourself to someone who drives a 250 tonne train.
2
@johnmoore9862 It was on Facebook. Mick lynch also gets 35 weeks leave every year. He drives a Ferrari and lives in a 6.5 million pound west London home with a 4 acre garden. Dennis also forgot to mention that if Mick lynch hits 10 strikes in a year then his bonus is paid out for another 2.6 million.
2
@avid8921 Mogg did say 50 years before we benefit. The first thing he did was move his company to the EU. Another do as I say merchant that the gullible working class haven't cottoned onto.
2
@KnightmareUSA I wouldn't believe anything from Farages mouth. City trader only interested in his hedge funds.
2
@elkpaz560 Yes, but if you already have the passport you don't have to give it back do you? That was part of the problem with the Windrush scandal. You can have more than one passport. ( Selfish leave supporters going out & applying for a paddy passport as an example ) At the time in question, anyone from the colonies had rights to come to the UK. Take a look at the passports from that time, Jamaican passports had the same coat of arms on the front with big letters above it saying - BRITISH PASSPORT!
2
@elkpaz560 Jamaica has always suffered from violence. I’ve been many times, unfortunately like all parts of the world you have GPS and bad in all people. The people on the Windrush were from the good side of things. Only came here to help and get on. Same as those Afghan interpreters that were shamelessly left behind in favour of a load of rescue dogs.
2
Thanks for the hard work you do Carl but guess which section of society has consistently voted in Parliament against giving you people a decent pay rise? Train drivers earn 60k plus not 50 as you mention. If you want train drivers money the simple answer is to apply, pass the interviews/ tests/ route knowledge/ and stock training and become a train driver. Otherwise you need to stop comparing and join a union.
