@acac7928 That's the fault of the tories giving freshly printed money to office workers and managers to sit at home for a year.

@nigelkthomas9501 Yes, everyone should work for a fiver an hour and get a cap to doff to keep you lot happy.
9
No. The responsibility of driving a train far outweighs that of someone who works on a platform. Anyone with half a brain would know this.
8
@nigelkthomas9501 " Normal society " Does that include grown men standing on the platform with a semi taking pictures and numbers of the choo choos? 😆
6
@TopherL People in those countries are far happier. In France's case the cost of living is far lower, house prices in central France are amazing hence why I'm moving there.
4
@matt5543 Far easier to take a swing at drivers Matt. Everyone does it.
4
@johnross2924 🤣 Nah , I'm inglish so that makes me an expat doesn't it? Either way, I'm happy to be called anything as long as I can get off this Island. 🤞
3
@Summitic Yes, but we don't have any money to give to the NHS staff as they aren't important..
3
@PrivateWalker Another one that's been suckered in by the looks of it Matthew - those on a £1000 an hour telling those on minimum wage that the one's earning £35 an hour are the problem. Your comment proves that a decade of gaslighting by a RW nedia has worked on people that can't think for themselves. And how would you know it's an easy job? Have you done it?
3
You need to look at the managers salaries which far outstrip those of train drivers. Most of them only do 6 hours a day and a lot of them sit watching the TV .
3
@johnross2924 Perfect age to start John. At least you'd be sensible unlike the yuuts with exhausts so big you could hide a small family in there driving around. Another reason to move to France, as they are so bad at driving you'd fit in well. Old land rover - knock the dents out with a mallet.
2
@henrydemonfreid1985 Agreed.
2
@scottbarclay6 Stop drinking before making a comment Scott. It stops you chatting complete bollox.
2
More gaslighting from the RW media. Wake up.
2
Are you that thick that you think a train driver is the cause of any delay?
1
Funny. They seem to have it for the Coronation next May....
1
@angelaharris6577 How can you bring everything back into the UK when it's been sold off? If you add extra carriages onto trains how do you fit them in the platform? Laughing stock - yes, caused by the muppets that put the tories into power with an 80 seat majority in the hope that the country would be all " white " again. The tories have been the main problem since Thatcher starting selling off all our manufacturers to companies abroad. All the tories think about is their shareholders and posh friends. The only people moaning are the people who think train workers, nurses, paramedics etc are over paid. Strikers are happily getting on with it. Abuse an all.
1
@tigading2177 The tories only have a huge majority because most of the country and our pensioners thought by getting the white unicorn that is Brexit done it would make Britain Great again and all the foreigners to get out. As we now know it was always a trick to get disaster capitalists to bet on the pound crashing and them making a fortune at the expense of the working class plebs. Fools Brittania.
1
If the Tories or Reform get in then it's a given.
1
Considering its the Righties that caused all the mess it should be them that pay for it
1
Yes, you will still get the Mail readers blaiming train drivers for the rise when it's really all because of the incompetence of the voters.
1
There will be no Doctors left then.
1
@mrharry448 Just use the 350m a week that was promised after leaving the EU. Simples.
1
At least we are now getting 40 new hospitals and 50,000 new nhs nurses paid for by the extra 350m a week now we've left the EU and our borders are finally protected and we've got back all our sovereignty. Everyone will all be able to get to work on the brand new Automatic & Driverless trains. Keep believing 🖖
1
Not sure what world you live in but in the UK the Tories have been in charge here for the last 12 years. Nothing to do with Labour, Corbyn, BLM, EU, Putin or Covid.
1
@mrharry448 Yes, they have always been eurosceptics. I'd wager that Mr Lynch and Dempsey are quick enough to pull out their paddy passports when they go abroad though. I had this conversation with a union rep who did the very same thing by voting leave then went out and got one, even though he'd never stepped foot on the Emerald Isle. I'd disagree with the blame laying on Labour though as it's the Tories that have been in power for over a decade and their manifesto promises to a load of pensioners who've had their benefits of the UK being a member all those years and now feel the country isn't the same as it was in the 60s and 70s when you could eat fish n chips from a newspaper and leave your front door unlocked ( because you had fk all to nick ) If you are to believe the current figures nearly 2 million of those pensioners are in the ground now. The rest are complaining why they can't seem at the Dr's ( as they were sent back home )
1
@yabbadabbadoo1863 Thailand a beautiful place spolit by too many nonces over 65.
1
Miners were sold down the river by Thatcher deciding to buy the black stuff from abroad. Get rid of all the train drivers and you won't have anyone to drive the trains sausage.
1
That's because the oldest metro system in the world receives the lowest subsidies in Europe. One reason a labour mayor has to keep going cap in hand to a tory government.
1
@Talus-hallux1 You mentioned the London region so I assumed you were talking about Central London. The south east is the richest part of the country, fares are expensive because of that. That's down to the operating companies as they have their shareholders to pay out - look at the boss of Network Rail 600k plus bonuses. One day the general public may wake up but until then the UK has got what it voted for - a capitalist government that has sold everything off to foreigners.
1
Drivers in Europe get more money . Eurostar drivers earn 10k more basic.
1
Haven't you yet sussed that rail staff don't have a say in any pay increases? Or did it say that in The Sun?
1
@anthonymckenzie579 No. We live in a democracy Anthony and at the moment in time still have the right to withdraw one's labour. If the fares have risen by 6% how is it the rail companies have only offered 4% with strings attatched? Fares normally rise every January by RPI. That's nothing at all to do with any workers and remember that some haven't had any pay increases in 3 years.
1
@anthonymckenzie579 So have you never had a payrise then Anthony? Do you get weekends and bank holidays off? Paternity pay? Legislation against harassment? Lunch break? How do you think those came about then? If trains don't have any drivers as they've had enough ( just like paramedics and Nursing staff who've done what you recommended leaving huge holes in the service) How do they run those train services? Invisible train drivers perhaps..
1
@HeyHeyForMe Like everything else the UK has sold everything off to foreigners hence why Brexit was never going to be a good idea. All of our trains are built up of parts that mainly come from abroad. When the contracts are tendered the government always go overseas. No loyalty to our workforce whatsover.
1
What has train tickets got to do with NHS workers pay?
1
@rhinoboy6603 I'd probably guess mate but thanks for pointing me in that direction.
1
@johnross2924 You can learn to drive after the driving examiners stop striking.😆
1
@HeyHeyForMe " Working from home " is a very loose term. My neighbours either side of me sat in the garden in the sun. One of them actively boasted that he landscaped his garden on the High strength lager come 4pm. Now he's the first to moan ( originally about brown people or eastern Europeans) when everything ( beer & fags mainly )went up. Lot's of these people voted Tory and are against socialism in any form except when it affects their bank balance. I agree on the fraudulent contracts but those people who sat on their arses are the first to complain when all those people ( Rail staff, Postal workers, NHS nurses, shop staff etc etc ) risked their lives going to work thru the pandemic and now want some recognition, not claps but hard cash. You don't need to look very far too see muppets mention tik tok dancing or train staff sitting around when those people were in work everyday. ALL that covid money needs to be reclaimed to help bring inflation down. After all why should I pay for someone else getting a benefit? I thought Socialism was evil after all...
1
The self employed get away with murder. Especially on the N.I. contributions.
1
They want a pay increase ' above ' inflation as has been agreed for years, because inflation is so high due to an incompetent government they simply don't want to pay out. Anything less than inflation is a pay CUT.
1
@meanlean3095 A silly comment from someone who's obviously never done the job. You've been gaslit.
1
@GARDENER42 In what way is Blair a war criminal?
1
@staycalm88 Simple answer is to just pay everyone a fiver an hour then it stops your lot moaning. Will take longer to save up for the Stone Island jumpers but there's always pay in 3 available.
1
@django3422 Looks like Nigel is unhappy that he could never qualify as a motorman so blames the ones that can for standing up for themselves. Maybe he's self employed and only cares for himself. Fk the workers.
1
Eurostar drivers are.
