@djtdjt8921 Looks like you've been indoctrinated into the cult of going on about train drivers salaries when there's a bigger issue here. Have a proper look at why the strikes are happening and then you will realise that it's not just drivers and not just money that's the issue.

@petermorris3665 If you have ever worked on the railway then you would realise why you need to join a union.

The rail companies biggest expense is workers ( especially drivers ) salaries. One reason they keep mentioning them on various media outlets to wind up the silly people. They have trying to dumb down the various grades for years so they can use it as an excuse to pay less. They are also hoping to make the conditions worse in the hope that people leave which saves them paying out.

OR we could forget the pay rise and allow rail workers to claim for travel, food, housing ( in London ) council tax, motor vehicles, and clothing. Just like an MP. Sorted.

You've pretty much hit the nail on the head. The elite first started the divide and conquer years back when Thatcher got as many people to buy their council houses then ramp up the interest rates a few years later. Fast forward to recent times and they spent a decade winding up everyone over foreigners taking jobs and homes to push Brexit ( a rich man's fantasy ) thru in order to top up their hedge funds in the Cayman Islands. The working class are the most gullible people in the UK. 🐑

You can get £13 an hour working in Aldis. Change your job and stop comparing yourself to someone who drives a 250 tonne train.
2
Ain't going to happen. Have you not worked out why the trains in Europe are cheaper? Driverless trains are a fantasy. Normally spouted by people that have no clue how the railways operate.
2
@dennis8196 Get a job on the railway. You don't have time to sit down.
2
@dangerousfables What's next ? Let's make mainline trains that travel at 120mph driverless and automatic. I volunteer you for the first run . Sit you in the driving cab.

4% per year = pay cut when inflation is at 10.1%
2
Not sure if you realise but the Milk snatchers been long gone for years.

@Randomukperson Still waiting. Thought it was easy.....
1
@Marlesden Another option - ( Liz truss variant ) Work harder.
1
Do what train drivers do and drive to work in a car.
1
Yep. And now no brown people to look after them at the Dr's. They've all gone back home.
1
0. You don't get paid if you strike. Hope that clears things up.
1
@SP-co3oq There's loads of websites that offer deals on cheaper train tickets.

Your comment is a bit late as British rail finished in 1997 my old cockle.

Your comment is a bit overlate as British rail finished in 1997 my old cockle.

@iainmillington904 Don't talk nonsense. On the railway you have to re-qualify every 12 months to keep your licence if you are a driver.
1
@Randomukperson If after pulling that lever the train rolls without motoring what would you do?
1
@Randomukperson Could you tell me the first isolation to make if a compressor overheats?
1
Congratulations on the complete nonsense answer of the day.
1
@Randomukperson What is the first thing you do if on approach to a station you lose main line air?
1
@iainmillington904 It takes up to a year to fully qualify. This ain't a warehouse.
1
Maybe you could apply Mark.
1
Or why not apply for a nure's job.
1
You've obviously never done the work so how would you know?
1
We've had auto running on some tube lines for years. Guess who you need for defect or operating problems? 🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁 A driver...
1
Do you go around running keys down the sides of cars better than yours?
1
@Marlesden Lets all work for a fiver an hour then bud. Just to keep you happy. Failing that you could always get a better job, maybe apply for a train drivers position. According to the YT experts all it's just pulling a lever and pressing a button. Eeeeaassyyyy.
1
So you get a 30k private pension and think train drivers earn too much? Very odd comment when you get more than a fire fighter going to work on shifts? Very odd...

Everyone is entitled to a pay rise James. Shall we all work for a five an hour to keep you happy?
1
@jamesp2681 You mention stupidity then go on about 2 completely different jobs in different organisations. You are a proper sausage aren't you James?
1
@jamesp2681 How would you know that a rail worker doesn't work hard or deserve a pay rise? Are you in the Tory/Mail/Express/Sun cult and believe everything they tell you? Did you go out and clap at 8pm every Thursday for the nurses then vote Tory? 🍩
1
2 different jobs. A bus drivers role isn't no where near as much involved as a train drivers.
1
Try not to follow the usual bollox of driverless trains and 60k per year. All it proves is that you don't know anything about how the rail way works and have just swallowed the RW rhetoric about just one section of rail workers pay. Try and use the left side of your noggin a bit more and think for yourself. It's not hard.

Spot on for comparing someone who pushes a broom around a warehouse to that of someone with over a thousand lives sitting behind them in the rush hour. 👏
