@davidz3879 London transport, The NHS, British Rail, The Royal Mail all set up recruitment offices in the Caribbean. Barbados government loaned people the money to pay for their tickets. London Transport put up workers in accommodation near to where they worked. If that wasn’t being invited then I must be making it up, the only problem being that I worked for the railways for nearly 4 decades and when I joined lots of the original supervisors and duty managers were from the Caribbean with some being benefactors of those jobs. That plus my wife’s Mother and grandmother being on the boat and signing up to work for the NHS as a midwife and nurse in one of Londons hospitals. That’s the facts David. I don’t mind people having an opinion but you lot seem to be so annoyed with immigrants that you pile out rubbish comments each and every time.

Caribbean foods far better than English stodge.

@elkpaz560 there were recruitment offices opened up in the Caribbean by the NHS and London Transport. They wanted to recruit well educated people to do jobs they couldn’t get the English to touch.

@veronicavaliant3054 Nonsense veronica. You’ve just made it up. That’s the problem with people who have a certain mindset, you just believe any old waffle as long as it fits in with your myopia.
2
@veronicavaliant3054 Of course I did Karen. I will prefer to get my info from the people who were actually on the ship rather than The Sun & Facebook Let me know when next month's conspiracy turns up 🖖

Stop peddling nonsense David.

@veronicavaliant3054 Male, female, non binary or whatever you are, you are still a Karen. You profess to knowing all about boats yet are totally clueless when it comes to The Windrush as you have just spouted total nonsense when I’ve got family members and ex colleagues that were on the thing. Trouble is ( to use one of your words in a previous comment ) when you start complaining about the Indigenous people being hard done by it’s quite clear that you have an issue with people of colour. You all turn out in your droves everytime these news clips come up and never have any links to any proper sources just another bloke on YT whose told you something that fits in with your blinkered views. Of course, everyone’s entitled to an opinion it’s just you never have anything concrete to back up what you say.
1
@elkpaz560 And when they fought for the empire they had a British passport didn’t they YT expert numero uno?
1
@elkpaz560 Yes, but if you already have the passport you don't have to give it back do you? That was part of the problem with the Windrush scandal. You can have more than one passport. ( Selfish leave supporters going out & applying for a paddy passport as an example ) At the time in question, anyone from the colonies had rights to come to the UK. Take a look at the passports from that time, Jamaican passports had the same coat of arms on the front with big letters above it saying - BRITISH PASSPORT!
1
@elkpaz560 Jamaica has always suffered from violence. I’ve been many times, unfortunately like all parts of the world you have GPS and bad in all people. The people on the Windrush were from the good side of things. Only came here to help and get on. Same as those Afghan interpreters that were shamelessly left behind in favour of a load of rescue dogs.
1
@elkpaz560 And if you want to bring current events to the front Brexit was proof that if you drip feed the working classes total rubbish over a decade you get them so annoyed with anything or anyone foreign that you get the end goal, and that’s to crash the economy to make a killing on shorting the pound!
1
@OhYeah32 How would you have repatriated people with a British passport if they wanted to stay?
1
@kevinb8558 Britain was only in certain countries because of plentiful natural resources. Take Charlies crown that we paid 300 million to put on his bonce. None of those stones came from the Peak District did they?
1
@OhYeah32 hy would anyone give up their rights to a passport? You’re forgetting that some people that came over have never returned to the Caribbean. Maybe, if you want to live in a purely white country you could volunteer to go and live in the Falklands. Flights from Brize Norton every second Wednesday. 👍🏻
1
@elkpaz560 You’ve got all the answers. Unfortunately other statistics outweigh your biased opinions. Worst knife crime in the UK ( Ons/Kinsella trust) is Cleveland. 98.5% 🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁 White.
1
@goldenoatie only negatives if you are a bigot.
1
@veronicavaliant3054 See my comment to David. You are incorrect.
1
@BlessedLPT. It’s not ignorance but myopia. Unfortunately these people can’t quite get their noggins round being helped out by anyone of colour. You only have to see the same people trot out the same lines after sitting watching an episode of one of many Right wing ‘ historians’ channels. None of these historians have any proper qualifications whatsoever. Opinions and arseholes - everyone has one. More often on social media you get arseholes with an opinion!
1
@elkpaz560 Did you check online to see that you were completely wrong?
1
@elkpaz560 ooh look. My response taken down...
1
Nothing like a news item on black people to bring out the Stoned Iceland gang😂
1
Can’t see your reply. Must be dodgy.
1
@goldenoatie What’s fake about it? Please provide your sources. Do you actually know what the word Traitor means? Most of you Right wingers don’t, but trot out the usual comments.
1
@goldenoatie Thing is - I would wager you voted for Brexit. If you did then you would have played your part in making us a third country and allowing everyone in and not being able to send anyone back to anywhere. Ironic?
1
Maybe, but they were citizens of the UK so a no brainier to stay here and wind up the bigots.
1
Your theory is incorrect Harry - by a country mile.
1
@Jamie-Z So when you married your wife was it at the same time the people from the Caribbean came here? If it wasn’t then you might find that the laws at the time were different so it’s not the same.
1
@goldenoatie You weren’t born so how would you know? Facebook??
