@c.m.s5071 Industry standard Charlie. Your comment looks like its making a driver some sort of low skilled numpty though. A high percentage of applicants don't get through the initial tests and then there's at least 12 months of training and route knowledge. Working with high voltage and safety systems also means its more involved than some LBC presenters on 6k a day would have you believe.

@ally11488 She's too busy at Dover, full on karen mode watching the rubber boats coming in.

So you support the unions but find strike action disgraceful? Makes complete sense. No it doesn't. I'm confused.

@InsanitiesBrother No. A 4 year pay deal was already in place. See 2+2 doesn't equal 9.

@Hoorna it's like when Tony gets a bone r only it's slightly hard.

@stephenhodgkinson2049 You are wasting your breath Stephen. People would much rather be force fed complete bollox and believe what some presenters on LBC tell them. ( you know the ones on 6 grand a show....)

@tonybuttie3038 Have you ever done any of the jobs mentioned? If not how would you know? Would it be because you read it in the Evening Standard and believe everything the RW media tells you?

@angiesosuk5877 Sorry, but I'm still confused after more word salad. You are either in support or against strike action. The usual route of mentioning other jobs and low salaries has absolutely nothing to do with what train workers earn. That's like people earning £1,000 an hour convincing those on £9.50 an hour that the ones on £50 an hour are the problem! The problem lays solely with the working class idiots who voted a government that despises those very same working class idiots and at every opportunity vote against giving anyone a decent pay increase but then getting said idiots to stand outside their homes at 8pm clapping and banging pots. Maybe they could use those pots to knock some sense into themselves.

That's because the French and Italian governments put far bigger subsidies into their national railways. Look at London Underground - the oldest metro network in the world that receives the least help from central government in the whole of Europe. Main reason it's so expensive.

You can't just " sideline " people because they want to join a union. You can't just hire Joe Bloggs off the street to work in a job that takes a year to train for. Silly comment.
