I have no problems with people from abroad coming here as we've relied on immigrants for decades, as long as they came for work. I think that people had their pants pulled down on that B thingy. That's why the ones coming here are for benefits in their droves. Once past the 12 mile mark we no longer have the right to turn them back hence why shedloads are sitting in hotel rooms paid for by you and I. Far better to have proper control which we had before, the rules weren't applied to properly.

No train staff want to go out on strike as they lose pay but when the management refuses to sit down and pay a fair pay deal then they have no choice. It also only holds 284 passengers at full capacity. A deep level tube train doesn't have a walkway along side. ( probably about a foot if you are lucky )If passengers need to be evacuated then the only way is forward. The tracks are live with up to 750vdc, grease, points, trip hazards abound. An S stock train holds 1350 passengers at full capacity. A main line train is either diesel or in most cases powered by electricity- 25,000vAC They can travel at over 100mph and can take up to 3 miles to stop in bad conditions. Looking at the tube ( seeing its the nearest to the DLR ) how would you detrain over a thousand people in a deep level tube tunnel without a driver? And let's make it interesting - one of the compressors has now started to smoke. I await your perfect answer Jimbo....

Large parts of the underground system are still impossible to make into a fully driverless, automatic system. Would need PED doors at every station. They can’t even get wheelchair access on most of the tube. Driverless trains won’t happen in our lifetime. The Elizabeth line was 4 years over in opening and 4 billion over in costs and after all that it still needs a driver. Safe travels.

Yep - you need a driver to take control and rectify the problem. The bloke used the DLR as an example which is normal for people who have no clue of how the railways work. A fully loaded S stock holds 1350 passengers. A DLR train has less than half and the complete line has a walkway running alongside it. A tube line doesn’t. If xrail being so new has full ATO capabilities why don’t they just run it driverless? Let me know when you’ve worked it out…

They are still entitled to apply for asylum ANYWHERE they want but to do that have to be standing on the soil of the country they wish to apply for asylum. The only reason any asylum seekers need to stay in a particular safe country is if they have family members already in that country or you didn’t pass thru a safe third country. As the UK is a safe third country now we’ve left the EU that’s one of the main reasons we cannot send them back to anywhere as we would be breaking international law by doing so. Instead of listening to shite like these channels have a read of the refugee act or how to apply for asylum on the UNhcr website. Everything is there in black & white. This will stop you regurgitating the same old nonsense. And YOU could do exactly what they are doing ( applying for asylum ) if you wanted to, that’s the difference between travelling with a passport/documents as you would more than likely be going on holiday. I also looked at the implications of imports & exports after Brexit because I was looking at selling goods abroad but discovered the costs were too high. Never saw any private sector workers thru Covid either as they were all sitting at home on free money watching Netflix for a year..

Most people use nurses as a benchmark but again it’s not train staffs fault that they earn crap money but that of a tory government and the idiots who gave them a massive majority. And it’s nothing about greed either, they just want a pay rise not having had one for 4 years which included Covid which they worked thru, unlike office staff/bankers etc who sat at home on free money. I have also had 3 pushouts where the train in front stalled and needed me behind to couple up and get it going. Wouldn’t happen without a driver. Life doesn’t work like that, you don’t get a say and with the money I paid into the EU each month I got out far more in benefits that Ive now lost. Good value to have FoM and healthcare abroad plus the fact that trouble free trading meant my grocery bill was far cheaper than today where Butter is kept in plastic security boxes and basics like pasta have quadrupled in price. Yes, we paid money in but the areas that needed it got help ( back to Stoke who got 178m in EU subsidies when we were in to be replaced by 11 million from the Tories when we were out) etc Better exchange rates / stronger pound ( 1.48 € - £ night of Referendum crashing to 1.21, then 1.17 night after making Crispin odey and his mates 500 million over night ) That made the working class man & woman’s holidays 30% more expensive. The pound has never recovered. More money going out in running costs. My friend closed one of his companies down because it would have cost him 12k a month extra to bring parts in and out to the EU, that made 7 people unemployed. Companies moving abroad for the same reason ( operating costs) Immigration - the main issue of Brexit now gone thru the roof as we have no legal way of sending anyone anywhere. As for farmers getting their own say you know that’s never going to be the case, especially with the Tories. It was all empty promises and lies just like Brexit full stop. I could go on and on but it would be a complete waste of time as your head is too deep in the sand my friend.

  796. ⁠ @etpoculasacra All the extra paperwork has to be paid for, be that in feed being imported or British goods going out to the continent. EU subsidies topped up our farmers income. I drink with 2 farmers and they are continually moaning about it, Clarkson famously kicked off on his show when he found out he lost £85 k in EU subsidies. As for the European farmers - they are now being targeted as they ignored rules in leaving parts of their farms in fallow hence subsidies being removed and on top of the deductions received when using farm diesel which are now going to be taxed accordingly. Another reason they are kicking off, either way comparing a foreign country to ours be it in farming or any other business doesn’t wash with us remain supporters as everyone was warned but ignored it because they were too gaslit over immigration. At this moment in time I live in the UK and I will only worry about what’s going on over the continent when I move there permanently. It’s the same with most brexiteers, they won’t admit that they got it wrong and use other places as an example, the same goes for the Reform cult saying everything will be worse under Labour or the Tories saying the same even if you go back when Labour were in power things were far better for most normal ( working class ) People. Same goes for immigration statistics.
