Bit hypocritical of JHB wanting to protect farmers after her Brexit stance.

@rjw4762 With tonnes of extra added paperwork that comes with costs attached. At least our borders are sovereign.
2
@run2cat4run Well done, at least some people have sense.
2
Yes. They can’t survive without subsidies…..
2
They won’t ever admit it though.
2
Did you say that to yourself as you voted for Brexit?
1
Julia wont give a toss. All of her grub probably comes from F&M

Blame people that voted to harm them - The Tories & Brexit has screwed them. At least we are more sovereign 😂
1
What happens when they start paying someone £25 an hour? The cost is passed on to you.

Spot on

Yep. It’s the too many brown people excuse again…..
1
@rjw4762 No it wasn’t. It was about getting rid of brown people. That, like everything else related to Brexit has turned to shite.

@etpoculasacra All the extra paperwork has to be paid for, be that in feed being imported or British goods going out to the continent. EU subsidies topped up our farmers income. I drink with 2 farmers and they are continually moaning about it, Clarkson famously kicked off on his show when he found out he lost £85 k in EU subsidies. As for the European farmers - they are now being targeted as they ignored rules in leaving parts of their farms in fallow hence subsidies being removed and on top of the deductions received when using farm diesel which are now going to be taxed accordingly. Another reason they are kicking off, either way comparing a foreign country to ours be it in farming or any other business doesn’t wash with us remain supporters as everyone was warned but ignored it because they were too gaslit over immigration. At this moment in time I live in the UK and I will only worry about what’s going on over the continent when I move there permanently. It’s the same with most brexiteers, they won’t admit that they got it wrong and use other places as an example, the same goes for the Reform cult saying everything will be worse under Labour or the Tories saying the same even if you go back when Labour were in power things were far better for most normal ( working class ) People. Same goes for immigration statistics.

@etpoculasacra And farmers won’t get any joy with the current government either. Anyone who thinks Gove was telling the truth when he promised help to them needs to stay away from plug sockets….

@etpoculasacra Ah, that’s a bit like me having a grumble at my 40% tax I paid when I was working in London going to pay for someone’s roads in Stoke on Trent. Life doesn’t work like that, you don’t get a say and with the money I paid into the EU each month I got out far more in benefits that Ive now lost. Good value to have FoM and healthcare abroad plus the fact that trouble free trading meant my grocery bill was far cheaper than today where Butter is kept in plastic security boxes and basics like pasta have quadrupled in price. Yes, we paid money in but the areas that needed it got help ( back to Stoke who got 178m in EU subsidies when we were in to be replaced by 11 million from the Tories when we were out) etc Better exchange rates / stronger pound ( 1.48 € - £ night of Referendum crashing to 1.21, then 1.17 night after making Crispin odey and his mates 500 million over night ) That made the working class man & woman’s holidays 30% more expensive. The pound has never recovered. More money going out in running costs. My friend closed one of his companies down because it would have cost him 12k a month extra to bring parts in and out to the EU, that made 7 people unemployed. Companies moving abroad for the same reason ( operating costs) Immigration - the main issue of Brexit now gone thru the roof as we have no legal way of sending anyone anywhere. As for farmers getting their own say you know that’s never going to be the case, especially with the Tories. It was all empty promises and lies just like Brexit full stop. I could go on and on but it would be a complete waste of time as your head is too deep in the sand my friend.

@etpoculasacra You started to sound like Micheal Gove at the end - “ we hold all the cards” I love your positivity but sadly it won’t happen. This is the UK and the government couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery. (garden maybe)

New non tariff charges that have started kicking in have a lot to do with it as does farmers losing large subsidies but the Brexit gang don’t care as their money is in the Caymans.
1
London won’t ever go hungry .
1
@slimyates Do you mean that you’ve not encountered any price rises since Brexit? Do you live on a magical island with lots of naked women walking around? Here in the Uk everything’s quadrupled. Spreadable butter is in security cases and Steak has tags on the packet. I drink with 2 farmers and they are at the point of giving up. They do however drive 100k tractors so who knows.

He was getting over a million quid from the EU. But nothing compares to his brightly coloured £800 bits of plastic.

Totally agree and I support local farms and farm shops but most people will give it the usual waffle about being patriotic then voting for a load of posh elitists and a damaging Brexit then get in their German motor and drive 10 miles to the supermarket.

@timg1246 Stoke on Trent got 178 million from the EU to be replaced by 11 million from the Tories but in your world you won’t see the benefit of membership. Do you pay tax? If so do you have a say in where it goes? Of course not. Silly comment.
1
@timg1246 Rubbish. That would be like me telling the government my 40% taxes are not allowed to pay for Wales, Scotland & NI’ s free prescriptions. The allocated ESIF money to Stoke ended up at 178 m which was replaced by the governments paltry 11 m. Money went out of the UK and was reinvested in areas that needed it, same went for farmers loosing huge subsidies and now some of them are going broke. Unfortunately there’s too many of you “patriots” that won’t admit that Brexit has damaged the UK beyond repair. Your secure border problem has got far worse since becoming a third country and yet no one seems to admit they fked it up by putting a X in the wrong box because you were too gaslit/thick to realise you were being played by a few billionaire’s who don’t even live in the UK….
1
@timg1246 Just imagine if us in Londonstan kept all the money we earned and it never went anywhere, especially to Brexit central places up north. They would be even more knackered than they are now. As you are an expert on the EU and leaving it let me have a few examples of the benefits. I’d say the people that voted to ruin the country were the “ enemy “ you pretend you are patriotic. Have a read of the meaning. You lot are the complete opposite. Delusional myopia of a country that was split by the wealthy to make themselves richer at the cost of normal people.
1
@timg1246 Enemy of the people? You’ve been watching too much Tommy 5 names with an Irish passport videos…😂
