Third country status.

@EdCalipel You are banging your head against the wall when it comes to people with Alan’s outlook. Everything is the EUs fault even though we’ve left. Imagine if his own human rights were infringed? You wouldn’t hear the last of it.
2
@duncansmith7562 You’re the one that lives abroad and has clearly benefited from FoM yet wants to keep people applying for asylum out of the UK Duncan. Think you need to think again when it comes to any form of bigotry fella.
2
@duncansmith7562 No. it wasn’t possible to implement just used incorrectly by both Labour and the Tories however looking at the official figures it was actually Labour that sent more people back to the first safe country they came from than the Tories. If we’d have stayed in the EU we could have joined up to the upcoming Dublin lV agreement where a country ( let’s say France ) would have to pay the receiving country of said asylum seeker €235,000 ( that’s per person ) to take them in. We of course can’t do that anymore thanks to the myopic 52% of the 38% of the UK that bothered to vote.

Looking at all the safe country comments Brexiteers still don’t understand what they actually voted for. Thick as 2 short planks.
1
@ianrowley5762 We could have sent anyone back to that first safe country Ian. That was before you and your mates voted to leave the EU..
1
@cameronnicholson1980 No they ain’t. In your mind maybe but not in the eyes international law. There’s no such thing as an illegal immigrant. Stop listening to people that spout shite on these channels.
1
Safe country rules no longer apply to us. Wakey wakey
1
They can choose where they want. They come here now thanks to the fact we are no longer in the EU and can’t send them anywhere.
1
@MAHMED-s6h No legal routes to apply for asylum exist. They are still entitled to apply for asylum ANYWHERE they want but to do that have to be standing on the soil of the country they wish to apply for asylum. The only reason any asylum seekers need to stay in a particular safe country is if they have family members already in that country or you didn’t pass thru a safe third country. As the UK is a safe third country now we’ve left the EU that’s one of the main reasons we cannot send them back to anywhere as we would be breaking international law by doing so. Instead of listening to shite like these channels have a read of the refugee act or how to apply for asylum on the UNhcr website. Everything is there in black & white. This will stop you regurgitating the same old nonsense. And YOU could do exactly what they are doing ( applying for asylum ) if you wanted to, that’s the difference between travelling with a passport/documents as you would more than likely be going on holiday. Hope this helps.

Look at all the delusional “safe country” comments. Proves people STILL don’t know what they voted for after all these years. Proves listening to people like JHB rots what brains people have left.
1
How would you know who has had their claims turned down elsewhere? Facebook? X? Daily Fail?….
1
@trevaudio 😂 Good one
1
Don’t forget to pay your £25
1
Because now we are not in the EU we can’t send them back to any country in the EU being a third country so essentially it was the Brexit voters that are at fault.👏🏻
1
@gregnorth6413 You could if you were applying for asylum there.
1
@davidankers9734 No such thing as an illegal immigrant David. And safe country rules no longer apply as we’ve left the EU. You’ve been gaslit.
1
@duncansmith7562 If it was that easy it would have been done years ago. There was a way to send people straight back to the first safe country they entered into. Guess when that was?…..
1
@duncansmith7562 I voted remain as I agreed with us having more rights to send people back to the first safe country under Dublin lll than not having it as a third country. Think you need to have a read of the refugee act which the UK signed up to back in the 50s. To claim asylum in a particular country you HAVE to be on that countries soil. Unfortunately, far too many people have an opinion ( like you ) that is made up of years of gaslighting by channels such as this and/or the crap RW tabloids that they haven’t bothered to read the rules before voting for something hence we are where we are all thanks to people that actually thought they were patriots😂
1
@davidsmith8728 Well David, it looks like I understand a bit more on third country status than you do. Didn’t vote for Brexit per chance?😂
1
@duncansmith7562 It’s clearly obvious to anyone with half a brain. Used correctly we could have sent more people back under Dublin. No need to wait for the updated version, I was pointing out the costs to the included countries which would have been a huge deterrent in letting people thru the net as other countries seem to do. The problem was always there before Brexit but look at the numbers coming in after which are far higher. I thought we were going to be in control of our laws, borders etc etc and everyone was going to be much more sovereign. Clearly some people swallowed the bullcrap more than others. ( That would be Brexiteers Duncan ) All assisted of being wound up like channels such as this one, funnily enough owned by the rich people that don’t actually live full time in the UK but tax havens. I think when it comes to the Stockholm Syndrome it’s you and your lot STILL waffling about “ safe countries “ and blaming everyone for not getting a proper Brexit whatever that maybe. Keep believing Duncan, maybe you could join the ranks of the caps lock REFORM gang and vote for a party that isn’t a party but a PLC run by a board of rich directors that will ( now they fooled you once ) go after the NHS and turn it fully private if they ever got to power. 😂
1
@david-pb4bi Spot on David. I’ve tried to explain it to Duncan but it’s like talking to my Mrs when we go shopping - you can’t convince her that the original pair of shoes she saw were the best ones before walking around for 4 hours then going back to that first shop again😂
1
@duncansmith7562 FoM still means you will get checked at any border or airport. You can’t compare an asylum seeker with someone who is going on holiday, studying, working etc in another country.
1
@duncansmith7562 Oh dear. Someone who is an immigrant and doesn’t live in the UK making comments about asylum seekers. I think the ignorance is somewhere 29km near the France/Spain borders…..😂
1
@duncansmith7562 Do you tell everyone you’re an “expat” Duncan ?
1
David proves that he never bothered to read the rule book before voting. STILL waffling about safe countries…
1
In reality it will be 20 bald 50 year old plus men all in the same 400 quid sweatshirt with a badge on the arm shouting for 20 minutes before the pub opens.
1
Safe country rules no longer apply. We ain’t in the EU anymore..
1
@polaris7122 I said those rules no longer apply. I’d wager if we had the agreement now the tories would be using it big time. Too late thanks to people voting the wrong way.
1
@jpw6893 2015 - just under 33,000 applied for asylum. 2023 - 78,000 applied for asylum relating to nearly 100,000 people so not sure where you are getting your information from. More people were sent back under Labour than the Tories via Dublin lll than now as a third country.
1
The reason they are now coming here in record numbers is that thanks to the numpties that took us out of the EU and making the UK a third country it would be illegal to send them back to a country in the EU. Of course Bojo the liar and the rest didn’t bother to tell you that when they were spouting the controlling borders and making everything super sovereign did they?
1
@enigma7791 Most are coming from Syria, Afghanistan, Iran. They can cross as many safe countries they want too apply for asylum. Now the UK is no longer in the EU we are a third country and thus it’s not allowed for the UK to send them back to any countries in the EU hence the Rwanda nonsense. Have you got it yet?
1
@enigma7791 I’m retired as well but you still pay tax on your pension. Unfortunately thanks to the majority of mortgage free pensioners voting for the Tories and Brexit the UK has been ruined which is why I’m moving abroad. Best of luck.🤞🏻
1
Can’t wait to move there permanently. Property cheaper, weather better, food better and they know how to protest properly. Over here people just moooooaaaannnn.
1
@ianrowley5762 OK let’s just make up any laws to suit you Ian….
1
The difference between you and them is that they land and apply for asylum. You could do the same if you so wished to. No one is Illegal until processed accordingly. You’ve been gaslit.
