His salary is £84k Paul. Stop reading the Express fella as it's making you confused.

@paulnutter1713 He gets a pension Paul. If you are talking about expenses they aren't benefits. He is elected by the 84,000 members for a set period of time. No guarantees he will keep a job after his tenure. Not sure what your problem is? If everyone had a good union ( Let's say nursing staff ) then they might not be on shit wages. I've more of a problem with MPs salaries. Liz Truss had just 44 days in office yet secures a £ 164 000 Pay packet for LIFE. Maybe, if your pay packet is lacking take a proper look why rather than try making things up which most of You tube commenters seem to do. Proves you have been gaslit by the RW media Paul.

@paulnutter1713 If you're in construction you won't be poor me thinks. Most of my mates are in building and loaded. Shit wages = Nursing and education. I have both in my family. Unions. I was a member of both RMT and Aslef for 33 years Paul. On the railway if you aren't in a union ( despite what some papers will have you believe it's not obligatory) you are chancing it. Hard job to get but very easy to lose. That is in terms of management will always try and put blame on the core workers for any problems. Not sure why you think Lynch's job is cushy. Have you done it? If not, how would you know? Would your deduction be from what you read in the press? If you work as a sparky ( especially anything to do with PAT testing ) then you will be set for life. Your post is typical of most of the comments here. Too many people getting caught up in incorrect info about peoples wages rather than the real problem. The RW press are doing their best with feeding you people crap. I'm surprised that anyone who can qualify to be an electrician be silly enough to get caught up in the press doing it's best to turn the working classes against each other.

So, are you saying you supported Thatcher but are now complaining about ordinary people not being able to buy a home?? You do realise that's reason don't you?

@paulnutter1713 Those figures are probably geographical averages Paul. All my mates who work in London and the South East are earning far more than that but then I'd hazard a guess that property doesn't compare to prices down here. My mate was moaning when he was earning 5k a week at the new Spurs ground, mainly about eastern Europeans doing other work there. When I asked if 5k a week isn't enough he shrugged his shoulders. Another mate has just done a 3 month contract ( electrician) for 20k Bearing in mind they are all self employed so claim for everything and never actually pay what they should. It's all relative, I don't fall into the trap about being jealous about others wages. Good luck to them. As I've said if nurses had a decent union then they might be on far better money. The problem lays with working class people who go on about them yet keep voting tory. You couldn't make it up.

You are deluded if you actually think Farage wants best for the UK. Look how Brexit has contributed to the state of the country now. He only interested in getting more working class people to make him and his hedge fund mates richer. Wake up

Train drivers aren't constantly whinging, that's the gaslit public that have been spoonfed drivel by the media. You can normally spot one, they moan about drivers salaries, often comparing them with other totally different jobs that have nothing to do with the railway. Very strange that it's train drivers fault that nurses are paid shite money, here was me thinking that it was the tory government that has constantly voted to stop giving them a decent pay rise....

And train drivers too.
