  1. it all goes back to WHY. WHY am I doing this, why am I AMBITIOUS when I have no real purpose to be? Ive started doing a LOT less in life when I applied first principles thinking, it turns out MOST of the things we do in society as people, SO much of the time we spend, is all about families and getting laid. Sex SELLS, and if you stop caring about sex, ALL the selling starts to FAIL with you. Why do I need or want a giant house, to look better to get laid, why do I want a flashy car, to attract pussy, why do I want that better job title and different digits on my paycheck, to brag to women and look better than other men. You start naming all the things you no longer really care about because you see they're only about sex and money, the less you do those things. You start REALLY thinking what do I WANT, not what does society or other people or what I think other people want, what is important to ME?

  2. If you're married, want no kids, and have a full retirement at 40, why the fuck are you so AMBITIOUS, it makes me SUSPICIOUS. To me, without kids there's no real reason for ambition other than selfishness. Why accumulate with no one to leave it behind for?

  3. I just got a new coworker, same age as me, 40, and he's retiring from 20 years in the marine corp. We don't get it, it's a dead end job we're all trying to escape from, this guy is gung ho and even says the money doesn't matter, he wants something to do, so we're like great, he got his full retirement pension and now we're his retirement project, fuck. He's married and anti-children, we're all like if I was him I'd take like 5 years off and live off your free money. He says naw, he's never taken a vacation, won't now, and took home books worth of stuff about the job to read on his own time. WAY too much effort for a $15/hr job.

  4. If I made that for a year I'd retire. My expenses are about $15k/year for my farm and home, and I'm debt free at 40. I'd work 2 years, save $300k of that and I'd be at escape velocity, and that's before interest lol. My taxes are the only expense that I could lose anything real by, and they're $1200/year, and I've already prefunded that for decades. I'm choosing to work now. I could choose differently at any time and retreat to my paradise and be FINE.

  6. OnlyFans has been my thinking problem, because I grew up as an 80s baby, ALL that matters is the MONEY. You work 100hr a week for $100k/year, admirable, but if you can work 20hr a week for millions, who's the loser? Output is the only metric that matters. If you can work less and make more, fuck, I have to respect you more because you HAVE THE RESULTS. You got giant arms doing some training that seems ludicrous, ok but they have the proof, so guess we're getting ludicrous and swole lol. It's probably unhealthy but if you make more money, if people are willing to willingly give you more, then I have to respect you. Attorney quits and joins OF and 5x their earnings, shit, good work. If I quit my 40hr/week $18/hr job and got something else making $36/hr 20hr a week, I'd feel like a huge winner, same pay for half the work, fucking fuck yeah.

  7. Some of us have enough, we could get a family and never work again. I only work because I have no family, I have nothing better to do lol! If I had a son tomorrow no way I'd be in to work ever again, I'd have a job already, Fathering.

  8. Meanwhile I'm DAILY getting recruiting postcards that cities send out to hundreds of us qualified operators. I'm a licensed water treatment operator. Every large city in my state constantly is begging me to work for them. In a state of 6 million there's only 480 of us with my license, to run the whole state. Of those who are open to working 'contract' and do consulting, there's 50 if I answer my phone, which I dont', so 49 lol. Without them there's no water. Not many people to walk away to collapse everything, wink.

Every time I call in a contractor to do work on my water plant, it kills me to see them doing something on my job making $110/hr (electrician for example) while I'm directing them making $18/hr, all getting paid by the same taxpayer. Guy came in and changed a valve and electronic actuator for us, one day job, 8hrs, $12,000. I saw the quotes, I know what the materials cost, so I know half of that was their material and labor markup, and of course there was behind the scenes work they did, sourcing, ordering, machining even, but it sucks seeing them do one job we see as kind of small this sole prop services guy made 6 MONTHS of my salary on this one job for us, and he does a lot of jobs for us. Thinking about seeing if I can go work for them...

  11. I'm the opposite, I've worked hard and saved up SO I CAN STOP WORKING TO HAVE A FAMILY. I'm there. If I could find a good woman, I have enough to never work again and enjoy a family. Too bad I've arrived at 40 and I'm seeing that plan is mostly impossible.

  12. All the things I actually WANT, that I have AMBITION for, are free, in fact it's impossible to purchase them. So more money is not a benefit for the things I want. A partner, kids, loyalty, integrity, care, 'love', none of those can be actually bought, not the real versions. They can only be GIVEN to you.

  13. I'm 40, and my biggest life lesson is money doesn't matter. I have all the money I could ever want. I could retire today and be fine for a century. All the things I actually WANT, that I have AMBITION for, are free, in fact it's impossible to purchase them. So more money is not a benefit for the things I want. A partner, kids, loyalty, integrity, care, 'love', none of those can be actually bought, not the real versions. They can only be GIVEN to you.

  17. My parents did it right, left me a farm in the millions in a great area, as long as I make $1k a year I can never lose it, the taxes are a pittance. I already have them pre-funded for 20 years...you can't move me.  @amandafurrow2338

  19. Exciting, my current overall goal is hitting my own personal 'escape velocity' amount of savings runway that'll excede my remaining life years, and I'll be out. I'm debt free, own my own land and home, already basics set for life, so I'm finally living the American Dream: working by CHOICE. Until I choose differently. I'm pro-choice like that. Men, think about what you WANT, think about your GOALS, is what you're doing going towards that, if not, change it.

It's like, logic check, I may be mistaken but dead men also make terrible employees, so every one checking out of life also has to be considered checked out of the workforce, BUT I'd BET they count every male self kill as a WIN on the unemployment stats, one less person counting anywhere, that lowers the number of job seekers and lowers unemployment numbers. You think women are manipulative, take a stats course.
