Comments by "" (@hamlet557) on "Why Turkey let Sweden into NATO" video.
@justsefa1843 We saw how Turks think and behave. We don't want a country that will veto all the time. We already have Hungary and it's hard.
113
50% voted for Erdogan and even most opposition Turks agreed on the VETO for Sweden. So I say: no way in hell.
17
@stoutheart So, Turkey wants only the benefits and none of the responsibilities. That's what everyone noticed. They are more like enemies than friends and allies.
13
And that's why Turkey should never get to a point to blackmail again. Therefore EU is out of the question.
6
@hellothere1656 Turkey was allowed to blackmail. And the rest of EU is allowed to protect themselves from being blackmailed again. Especially when Turks were so happy that this winter Europe would freeze, then STAY IN THE MIDDLE EAST, be warm and don't bother us again.
6
@justsefa1843 By pulling the "racist card" every time, won't get you anywhere. You can't get into an alliance if you don't recognize the government of a member country. No matter how many people you call racists, you can't just dance around that.
4
@kx4998 If you check turkey's opposition, you would conclude that TR doesn't belong in EU ever!
4
EU would fall apart within a month of Turkey joining.
3
@Dave1507 I PERSONALLY know Turkish people who have asked and gotten asylum. Check again.
3
@Mizar4 Europeans know why. The rest don't have to know.
2
@vertigo2894 Turkey managed to exterminate all their minorities in the past (check up genocides) Kurds resisted and Turks are angry for that. I won't play their middle eastern games. Let them deal with the problems they created. UK, Spain, France dealt with their problems with dialogue. Turks try to deal with it with more state terrorism and imprisoning journalists and politicians. Not to mention that whenever France has problems with muslim violence and terrorism, Turkey is trying actively to use muslims as weapons against the West. So cry me a river. We deal with our issues, Turks deal with theirs.
2
@CengizNoker I always see Turks criticizing Romania and Bulgaria. What's wrong in their media? Romania and Bulgaria have never created problems in EU. Hungary has. And Turkey is just 100 times worse than Hungary
2
Whatever NATO does, Turkey will always VETO. Because it's in their DNA to always blackmail. They aren't allies, they are the enemy within.
2
Don't tell it to us, tell that to your sultan. Are you allowed to speak up in Turkey?
2
@spaniardecn7841 I believe that Erdogan was putting on a mask, and he was always the same dictator, Turks always loving strongmen, so it was just a matter of time till finally reaching the point we are today. In 2009, Erdogan threatened with VETO on Danish PM as Nato chief: "Denmark's prime minister was appointed the new Nato chief yesterday following 24 hours of brinkmanship and bitter dispute over religion and liberty that risked turning the western military alliance into the hostage of a clash with Islam." If you remember there were the cartoons issue, people were murdered because of them, and Erdogan blamed Denmark for having freedom of speech. How can anyone imagine THAT country in EU? It was always like that, I only was too stupid to see that.
2
@justsefa1843 "No one is denying the existence of anyone else." Oh really? Google it. I knew that Turks don't recognize the Cyprus government but I checked it just to be sure that I don't embarass myself like you do: "Turkey does not recognize the government of the Republic of Cyprus, stating that the Republic—as established by the Constitution of 1960—ceased to exist " "Cyprus' accession to the European Union has had a negative impact on Turkey in regards to its own accession negotiations. The refusal of Turkey to allow Cypriot-flagged ships to access Turkish ports has resulted in a partial suspension of its accession negotiations." So yeah, it's not just a Cyprus issue: it's an EU issue if Turkey doesn't accept a member country.
2
@justsefa1843 "Cyprus is enitrely irrelevant to the EU joining" is what you said. I proved that you are wrong.
2
Well, that's what Germany thought about Russia and look where it got us. It's never a good idea to let an expansionist, blackmailing country get away with it.
2
@justsefa1843 Turkey with the ottoman heritage and the genocides better shut up. But still, if they hate EU so much why are we even talking? They should retract their candidacy. Problem solved.
2
Do what you want to do. Belarus after all tried to do the same. It seems that all authoritarian barbarians are trying to blackmail EU all the time. Ok, I see that Turkey is trying to blackmail again. I hope that European idiots read these comments and realize that whenever turks are in a possition to blackmail they will do it to the ultimate degree. So it's just better to confront them with our FRONTEX.
2
@Suksass Especially the Hungary example tells us that we shouldn't accept someone even worse. It's too much that Hungary is EU.
1
@Suksass Is there any way you can secure that they won't VETO every effing decision until they get what they want? Since there is no such way to be sure, since Turkey has shown exactly how it will abuse their veto rights blackmailing every time I say: let's see how we'll deal with Hungary and we'll discuss turkey in 50 years.
1
@Suksass No, because the minute they get in they'll vote the next Erdogan-like leader and we wouldn't be able to throw them out. Just like we were stuck with them in NATO.
1
@Suksass If you call Meloni faschist, then you'll have to invent a whole new word for Bahceli (Erdogan's coalition) and Aksener(opposition) . If you call AfD "nazi" for not wanting immigration, then opposition Turks are 100 times worse. Not to mention that EU countries haven't threatened to annex other countries. Turkey does.
1
No one said that turks should be second class citizens. Turks should just STAY OUT. We will never forget that turkish minister who said that "EU will freeze this winter" and they were clapping their dirty hands in joy. So I don't care when hateful people like you call me names. STAY OUT and be happy.
1
EU wants the muslim majority Albania. They don't want the blackmailing Turkey which uses their veto for every effing reason until they get EU to submit to their demands. That's not how EU works and Turkey won't be accepted in this lifetime. Albania and even Bosnia will get in eventually.
1
@OM-ls9bb Don't worry, Turkey won't be accepted in EU in your lifetime.
1
@hellothere1656 And EU will exercise their rights. Turkey VETOed Sweden for terrorism but accepted it when they got F16. So it's exactly as everyone knew from the start: BLACKMAIL Now let's imagine these thugs VETOing decision as simple as the "protection of the brown bear" until we deliver them an EU journalist who insulted their Sultan. No way in hell they get in EU!
1
@hellothere1656 Don't provoke me to send you a video from Turkish minister, mocking Europeans while turkish orcs were clapping their hands. Turkey's military budget is the 10th in NATO. Don't act if your hordes of underpaid-uneducated anatolians is more important than the high tech army of UK and France.
1
@robertdeniro9643 So, what's your argument? That we should accept the other 97% of middle eastern population , have borders with Iraq and Syria just because some 100% EU countries are small? You don't seem to get it, do you?
1
Not in this century.
1
You missed the most important issue : how will you secure that they won't use their veto to block all EU decisions until we totally submit to their demands?
1
Bro, how about stop screaming "racism" whenever you don't like criticism?
1
When UK had a problem with terrorism they solved it themselves. Same goes with Spain. And Italy. And they did that without bombing the sht out of minority villages as they did in TR. And without violently suppressing their minorities. Erdogan has recently removed ELECTED kurdish mayors and replaced them with mayors of his AKP party. If Erdogan accuses all his political opponents as "terrorist sympathizers" without evidence. If he finds some idiots who believe him, it speaks more about your bias, not ours.
1
@justsefa1843 Sorry Turk, you don't know how EU works and you think that it's like your middle eastern politics. IT'S NOT. In EU, every country has VETO power over most decisions. You don't know it because they have learnt to solve their differences in a civilized manner without pulling VETO cards to blackmail every time. And this is the reason why a country which uses VETO all the effing time has no position in EU. You can call it racist as much as you want. The truth is your arrogance and anatolian bazaar negotiations have no place in EU. We don't want the turkish orcs to look down on Malta and tell "we are big, you are small you do what we want" We respect Malta and we'll make sure that all European countries get the respect they deserve.
1
whataboutism5439 And that's the reason why no one should ever accept even a glass of water from turks. They will demand your soul if they even do you the smallest favour 2 centuries ago. EU keep Turks OUT no matter how they try to put a civilized facade: you see how they see it.
1
@roxxuu Ok Turk.
1
@Selo988 Sorry, but even the majority of opposition voters are very pro-Erdogan's foreign policy, they like it when he acts like a bully and they think that blackmailing is a means to achieve their goals. First time I noticed that something is really rotten in turkish society is when I saw a survey that 75% of Turks approved to turn Haghia Sophia into a mosque. Don't get me wrong, Turks have every right to destroy their own monuments, but still, I don't see the "progressive Turks" that they are so advertised in the west. And then I kept checking and checking. The progressives are a tiny sad minority. And I'm really sorry if you belong in that minority. The "I didn't vote for Erdogan" tells me nothing if people vote for Aksener or didn't vote CHP because KK accepted votes from Kurds (?!?!?!?!?) So yeah, I'll keep saying Turks and not Erdogan.
1
@Munkie Every idiot can scream "racist" whenever they run out of solid arguments. And as you see, that's exactly what they do. No one cares anymore.
1
@IrishCinnsealach After seeing huge billboards in UK terrorizing people that Turkey will joing EU (and thus they should vote brexit) I'm not sure even for UK.
1
A Turk can never pass as Swede 😁
1
@justsefa1843 You aren't even accepted in EU, no one wants you and you already want to throw a member country out. How interesting and so typically turkish! Of course invading sounds fair to people like you. That's why you invaded Syria and still occupy regions there. Well, we don't want to deal with your middle eastern invasions. Do your ummah/ottoman or whatever thing, become leaders of the muslim brotherhood, we don't care. just stay out of our business.
1
So basically you are afraid that Serbs will do to you what you did to them. Oh well...
1
@Suksass Germany and France aren't proud of their atrocities. I haven't seen anyone as proud as their Turks for their crimes.
1
@Suksass If you add up France's LePen, Germany's AfD and all far-right parties in EU and compare it, Turkey is still 10 times more to the far-right. If I check what the "opposition" Aksener was saying, where will I categorize her? If I check the governing MHP? If I check Germany's far-far-far-far right, will I see anyone saying that they should invade another country? Because you know that Turks often and publicly talk about that. Turkey isn't even "swinging". It's either bat sht crazy nationalism vs bat sht crazy islamist. Always on the far right without any chance of having even a normal center-right government. And btw, why shouldn't Germany feel proud for Beethoven , Schiller, Freud etc? It's the country of the philosophers and poets. "French idolise revolution" So? The world idolises the French revolution abolishing monarchy!! Not even comparable to turks wanting back the ottoman empire with the sultans.
1
@garfield1245 If he's an EU citizen, his opinion matters.
1
@rizkyadiyanto7922 I won't become the useful idiot for the ruskies to destroy EU. My opinion matters, I can choose my government and my government generally does what their voters want it to do,. I don't have a sultan like Erdogan or a tzar like putin. I have a government and I can protest, criticize and change my government.
1
@tezcanuyank3446 As if the opposition isn't fascists. The opposition isn't the liberal progressives some EU idiots think.
1
If Turkey joins, they would VETO all the time and EU would be dead withing a month.
1
Check the opposition and then you'll see that Turkey doesn't belong in EU, period.
1
So Turkey needed something from USA and not from Sweden? As if we didn't know that TUrks only used VETO to blackmail.
1
I used to support Turkey's membership too. But I was an optimistic idiot. I don't want a Hungary on steroids in EU. We have enough problems already.
1
@CengizNoker Thank you for showing another reason you don't belong in EU: because you hate EU countries. And if you care about refugees (90% of who are male) you wouldn't push them and use them as weapon against EU.
1
Good luck with that 😁
1
Turkey threatened Greece with war and you think that anyone expects you to protect anyone??? The reason France sent warships to the Aegean is to protect an EU country from getting attacked by YOU. And what is ironic is that after your President threatening a NATO country with war, you complain that NATO doesn't trust you. Especially after buying S400 from the enemy and now bargaining to join brics. Your Sultan is best friends with Putin and Iran. EU and NATO imposed sanctions in Russia and Turks were celebrating that "europeans will freeze this winter". No one complains, because everyone knows that Turkey is practically out of NATO and isn't considered ally. Exactly the way you are still EU candidate without anyone really considering you a candidate. It's just an empty name.
1
On the other hand, Turkey will never be accepted into EU. So it makes sense to be polite. Just like a good mother will scold her kids when they misbehave but won't bother with other kids.
1
@Valkyraw EU thinks that Cyprus deserved to be in EU, Cyprus wanted to join EU They made a deal And no one asked your opinion. EU doesn't decide on turkic council, you don't get to decide on EU issues. Stay where you belong.
1
@justsefa1843 Let's see if Turkey will ever recognizes Cyprus and then we move to see if there is even one country in EU that wants TR in EU. I can bet that by then, even Albania won't be too interested in letting TR join. Unfortunately it exceeds my life expectancy and won't be here to see.
1
@CIutchX She's a Turk. In their mind it's always "whoever is stronger orders and the rest have to shut up" If they were accepted in EU and saw Malta raising questions, they'd go crazy.
1
@haldbl If you see more than 5% of Turks actually respecting a criticism from a small country, then you can tell me I'm racist. Because whenever I see them reply to someone coming from a small country (especially Bulgaria but even Netherlands) 95% of comments coming from Turks are "shut up you are small". But Turks can't be racists, they are allowed to talk like that to most EU countries.
1
@haldbl And there come the reaction from a Turk: "we should maybe take cyprus and greece and leave nato and join russia they you will even have more fun maybe we join brics" I was proven right once again.
1
Right now Turkey receives billions to keep migrants, they don't keep their part of agreement, they keep pushing immigrants to Greece, they make turkish smugglers rich and they keep BLACKMAILING. You want to push more immigrants? Do it and see what happens next. We had Putin blackmailing us with gas, we managed to deal with it. We can deal with other third world countries as well. Enough is enough. We can't get more blackmail from third world countries.
1
You forgot that there is already a problem with far-right turkish nationalists and their organization of gray wolves which are considered terrorist in many EU countries. We can't just let everyone in, especially regarding the problems they have already caused.
1
@Dave1507 Check more, you are wrong.
1
@Dave1507 Google "assylum seekers from Turkey" I got the results "68,421 people from Turkey fled in 2022 and applied for asylum in other countries, according to UNHCR data." If you are too stupid to google, don't act like an arrogant ahole
1
and what will you do when they VETO 100 times per year until you give them what they want? Think more carefully about their culture.
1
@justsefa1843 If the only thing you know how to say is cry "racism" every second sentence, then I guess you run out of arguments. If you don't like EU, GOOD!! Stay out of our racist club and everyone is happy. After all it's the turkish century, you don't need nobody. The non racist Turkey will rule the world.
1
@IrishCinnsealach oh well, 3% is in EU. We can discuss if we will accept that part in EU. But why would we accept the rest of Asian turkey? Is the Turkish occupied part of Syria in Europe too?
1
