  9.  @Wasnt-1  It WAS a lot of talk to let TR in, but it failed miserably and now no one even thinks about it. Turks don't have anything close to EU mentality. Gerorgia and Armenia are much closer culturally and politically. Kazakhstan has potential but only after Georgia and Armenia are intergrated.

  13. As part of the pigs, I agree with you. I love the diversity of political views and I hope we can be better. My biggest goal is to be able to become net contributors soon, take some wight off your shoulders and keep our governments more responsible. (ok, not happening yet, but we are better)

  14.  @AhmetErciyas-g1s  Egypt isn't a part of EU either, but comparing to TR shows exactly that TR is closer to Egypt than to EU. EU has some VERY BASIC VALUES, one of them is to not hate EU. Turks really can't stop hating it. Second is to not hate the west and western values. 99% of comments from Turks show that they clearly hate western values, whatever they might be. That's what makes it a bigger joke than Belgium wanting to join OPEC.

Since I'm old I remember very well that Kosovo was part of Serbia and then UCK started a war with the only reason that "there are albanians there and they should join albania" So it's really annoying when you blame Serbs for something that albanians did. Albanias also claim some parts of North Macedonia. At some point this must stop and certain people accept that borders don't change whenever they have the guns to do that. And that goes to everyone including you.

I don't know which idiot politician told you that economy is everything, but you had serious problems before (democracy, rule of law, freedom of speech etc) and over the years you managed to do 10 times worse than before. And yes, we'll never let Turkey in, because they have totally different mentality, agenda and opinions about what's important in life. While all comments from Europeans have to do with quality of life, Turks are obsessing about their effing army and being "super power". Sorry, we aren't interested in what you are trying to sell. And good luck convincing Sweden that you won't f*ck up the whole continent if you set foot.

I will help them every way that I can and the moment it's safe enough to travel there, I'll be spending all my holiday budget there. It's a promise I made to myself to try as much as I possibly can to help them enter EU.

  34. Because Albania has claims over North Macedonian lands. In order to avoid more balkan sht, EU decided to make these countries join together. At some point Albania (as everyone) should accept the borders as is.

Even the EU countries who had a colonial past, it's IN THE PAST and nowadays they did something unimaginable : they WILLINGLY surrendered some of their political rights to parliament consisted of many countries and they gave VETO rights even to the smallest and weakest EU countries. Of course you proved once more that Turks are very anti-western and hostile to anything EU (except the EU money) I won't even comment on Ottomans, not even Neo-Ottomans. But thanks for showing what would happen if TR entered EU. They would discuss any CURRENT issues with their usual anatolian attitude. "lets make a law against violence towards women" turks to French, Belgians, Netherlands etc : you were colonialists, shut up. turks to Bulgarians. Maltese, Fins etc: we don't care about your small country, you are insignificant. turks in general : VETO this law, until you send to prison the journalist who dared criticize our beloved sultan. EU is a Union that demands your laws to be aligned with EU laws. Not only there isn't any progress from turkish side there is a TOTAL BACKWARDS movement in full speed. No one needs a member, state already bitter about EU and already having HUGE beef with half member states. 1. When unanimity (it means that every member has veto rights) has caused problems already, good luck getting in EU after what you did to Sweden and Finland. 2. When a m*slim butchered a French teacher, Turks were boycotting ... France. 3. When the cartoons caused the death of many people, Turkish President threatened to VETO Dannish Rassmussen for NATO, because he allowed the Mohamed cartoons to get published. (beef with Denmark) 4. Turkish President sued a german journalist for "insulting him" in his satire show. (Germans didn't make it a huge deal, they changed an old law but they still remember the turkish mentality) Do normal Turks understand and approve the way EU works? NO WAY! I have heard in my normal life and read hundreds of turkish comments about Bulgaria and Romania "who cares about them? they are small and weak and insignificant" You know that Turks say that, you can see similar comments here as well. How could we let a country with that mentality in our union? They will destroy everything from day 1. I can't imagine inside EU parliament the average Turk politician saying "shut up you are small" to other members. I have never ever EVER seen an EU politician saying in public "we need to teach them a lesson"
