  14.  @monke6116  Turkish politics are basically middle eastern politics : islamists vs nationalists. Which is fundamentaly different than EU politics where it's (christians-nationalists) vs (leftists - progressives) That's why it seems that Europeans don't get you. Erdogan has managed to take by his side the nationalists in many aspects and that's why CHP can't win. By European standards CHP is basically far-right. And the reason for that mess is that Turks are "proud" and they will never admit that there is a problem, and they are pretty ok with not having basic human rights. When someone was accused for "insulting the sultan" for posting something extremely polite on international forum NO ONE was by his side. The "proud" Turks, even the ones living abroad were trying to come with exuses for Erdogan, to protect the turkish image. And that's even MORE fundamentaly opposite to souther Europe. During our dictatorships Greeks and Portugues were protesting against our regimes abroad, so that we would get attention and help from western democracies. Turks abroad are "turkey is such a nice country, come for holidays" Europeans aren't stupid, they know what's happening, the only thing that changes is that they consider the average Turk as a proud idiot without democratic values. And they are "oh such a nice country, so polite people" while in their head "for a middle eastern country, what they have is good enough". But Turks remain proud militaristic. I'm ok with Turkey being .. Turkey. But I don't want more proud turks in EU, posting how great turkish army is from.. Berlin!

  55. 1. Turkey is the only country that ever threatened Greece with war for the last 40 years. I don't know how barbarians are used to talk to each other, but Europeans tend to take threats seriously. No dear, IT'S NOT NORMAL 2. Turkey is actually at war in Syria and Northern Iraq and just a while ago with Armenia. The fact that Turks even find the time to threaten their only peaceful neighbour while their kids die in the East just shows their obsession. 3. No, we are not close culturally nor in lifestyle. Turkish society is the most violent society I have ever come across. Turks prefer to be feared than to be loved. People are ashamed to say that they are poor or weak in turkey. Inside the barbarian society, the powerful demand obedience, and the weak obey. When the government is unfair to you, no one, not even your friends, will speak up for you. Turkish society looks a lot more similar to Russian society. 4. This obsession about "power" shows even in your own comment "we could be really powerful allies". But we don't want to be powerful. That kind of argument could work with russian mentality. Greeks want to have BETTER QUALITY OF LIFE. We can't even communicate in a basic level. 5. Greece is very happy and peaceful with all the neighbours except the middle eastern garbage on our east. Albanian, N.Macedonian and Bulgarian army are famously very weak and they aren't even interested in arming themselves: because Greece NEVER THREATENED THEM with war. Turks are proud that people are afraid of them. I'm PROUD that no one is afraid of me. Because we are NOT "culturally similar",

  60.  @emregol3793  1. I don't give a fck about gas money. 2. If I have legal rights on the gas, then I'll decide who will do the drilling. If I don't have legal rights on the gas I don't decide who will drill and I won't get money for gas. 3. If I have legal rights and I decide who will do the drilling I can tell you even now that it won't be the Turks. Because I don't like people who tell me "let me do the drilling or else I'll kill you." I'd rather let the gas in the sea forever than to give in to people who threaten and blackmail. Because everyone knows that people who blackmail always come back to ask for more. 4. I don't do anatolian bazaar kind of bargaining in my life, and I don't want to leave such a legacy for the next generation. The gas, even if it's 100% greek, doesn't belong to me, it belongs to the next generations as well, and I'm totally ok to leave the gas for later than to leave them bonded with someone who said "agree or I'll kill you" and got away with it. For me, if I ever get asked in the next elections or protests my answer is already clear: - Courts should decide what's ours and what's not. And I don't give a fck what the result will be. - We won't agree with people who blackmail us, even if they gave the best money offer. - EU companies of course should be prefered because EU helped us in the past and it's our duty and pride to help them back. That's me. And if you believe that I'm an EU-slave I don't mind. To my ears it sounds as if someone tells to a Konyali that he "bows down to Turkish state", so your attempt falls on deaf ears. Me : Athenian - Greek - European.

  61.  @emregol3793  -But who will be the Judge? Internationcal courts. When someone claims that your backyard belongs to them you don't "negotiate" and you don't "split it 50-50", you go to COURTS. The same when you believe that someone's backyard belongs to you. Turks should know that not everything is anatolian bazaar. I shouldn't have to explain it to "londoners". -Very good. Turks think the same thing as well. What about now? I'm totally ok with that. why is this even a question? -Getting the gas and left you with pennies is calling help now? Woow. If you think that's ok, you got a problem man. Maybe you were reading too much of "both sides" and you missed what happened in Greece and who helped Greece for years. Since I'm EU citizen I know how many BILLIONS I got from EU and that the decent thing is to help EU back when I can. "but unfournately both of the nations needed it. " I answer for Greeks: NO we don't. I don't know what "londoners" think about Turkish economy. "Dont you think that even if its %100 Turkish, it does not belong the Turks live now" If it's 100% turkish, I don't care if they'll leave anything to the next generation. It would be theirs to do whatever they want with it. I never bothered what they'll do to the gas Erdogan found in the black sea. And Turks didn't bother asking Bulgaria to share it 😁😁😁😁😁😁 I wonder why I have to explain it to an "unbiased londoner" " Greece and only shows news about the aggression of Turkey. " Maybe you are too much "londoner" that you don't know that there were whole 1hour- prime time talk shows about Greece. Or maybe you are too much "greek" and you only watch greek TV. "Greeks had signs documents with west" - "Greece and west decided that it is greek. " Where did you get that information? In "london"? 😁 Seriously "unbiased" dude, I don't think that even Turks can claim that Greek EEZ hasn't been determined except a part that was signed between Egypt and Greece for the south and Greece and Italy in the western greek border. In what kind of media did you find a "western" signature about the greek EEZ? Do you realize how silly and totally uninformed you sound? You have to let other see if you are "unbiased" or not , it's not something that normal people claim for themselves. It's funny that you blame westerners about EVERYTHING, exactly as TUrks do but that's not "unbiased" it's literally as anti-western biased as it can get. When I said that I'm Athenian- Greek- European it wasn't said to brag, because nationality is nothing to brag about. It means that I see EU as my family and not an enemy. If something I do helps EU, then GOOD!
