For 'privileges' read 'hand outs?'

In a few years time, it will be necessary to believe that it was.

Prior to the British (and French) arrival, there was no 'India.' Simply a network of Princely States, generally warring with each other. By the way, there were famines before the British arrived, and have been since they left. There was a 'man-made' famine in Bengal in WW2. The men who made it were Japanese. Food convoys were diverted from Australia to India, and the supplies distributed by the Anglo-Indian army. The first railway in Japan was introduced in 1872, around 35 years after they had appeared in most Western countries, and 20 years after the first one in India. The railway was built by a British engineer, Edmund Morel, on the island of Honshu. Morel's experience with building railways in similar terrain in New Zealand saw Japan adopt the 3ft 6in Cape Gauge. It must be a problem for thoroughly indoctrinated people like you. Facts must come as such an inconvenience.

You haven't actually read what he said, have you? To save you this trouble, here is the relevant part of the speech :- “I deeply regret the benevolent and persevering exertions of England to abolish that atrocious traffic in human beings, at once the desolation of Africa and the blackest stain upon civilised Europe, have not as yet led to any satisfactory conclusion. But I sincerely trust that this great country will not relax in its efforts until it has finally and forever put an end to a state of things so repugnant to the spirit of Christianity and the best feelings of our nature…” Albert was regretting for the fact that efforts to abolish slavery practised by other nations had not been as quickly successful as was desirable. That was his actual 'apology.'

@Pablo__D It would be difficult to do that, as there weren't 'hundreds of millions deliberately killed and disenfranchised' except in the fertile imaginations of those either indoctrinated, or actually doing the indoctrination.
