For the entirely rational reason I previously explained. Odd how when people are unsure of themselves, they resort to abuse. I believe that Socrates was the first to point this out. I think his comment was along the lines of 'When people run out of arguments, they resort to insults instead.' I confess, however, that my classical Greek is not what it was during University days. If you cannot understand my explanation, then that is entirely your own problem, unless you are suggesting that your original comment was 'shallow and decidedly lacking' of course? By the way, in your last sentence 'your' is incorrect. You should have written 'you are' of course.
