Comments by "doveton sturdee" (@dovetonsturdee7033) on "Labour MPs who vote to AXE winter fuel payment warned: 'You will be NAMED and SHAMED' for CRUELTY" video.
@michelet4577 Nonsense. The vast majority of pensioners are not rich. Most are just above the limit for which they can claim benefits, and will thus not receive the fuel allowance. It is simply not a class issue.

@Ken-yy9us So, your argument is that pensioners might be lucky, and only a few might die? Have the allowances to single parents been touched? I musr have missed that.

@Ken-yy9us 'Jeez, did this just happen in the last few weeks then?!?! There's me thinking it went back fourteen years or more, but I guess you know what your talking about.' Oddly, I don't recall the Tories abolishing winter fuel payments? Can you tell me when it happened, comrade?

@tobylerone4285 The vast majority of pensioners are indeed poor, but just far enough the limit for Rachel & her Dear Leader to avoid giving them any winter fuel allowance. What a pity that people like you are so obsessively loyal to Starmer that you feel the need to deny something which is undeniable to mere normal people.

You think that would worry him? How charmingly naive of you.

@keithapps Last time I looked, it wasn't the Tories who had axed the Winter payment.
4
It wouldn't bother them, as they would simply claim it back on expenses, as MPs generally do in any case.

@michelet4577 'ahh I see let’s keep giving £300 to 18.8% of the population while the services fall apart. The system needs reform.' Immediate cancellation of a small payment to a group which includes many of the most vulnerable in society? Is that your idea of 'reform?'
4
@Ken-yy9us 'But do those above that need it? That's what this government is trying to stop, people like Heseltine, Curry and Major. There has to be a cutoff as you have suggested and, rightly or wrongly, he has decided his level.' So, those just above the cut-off limit, but already struggling, are merely collateral damage, as Rachel & her Dear Leader look after their core vote? Is that really what you are saying?

@tobylerone4285 'how about the rich pensioners refund all the fuel payments they’ve had along the way, that would most likely pay for the payments of the poor, no?' You have my sympathy. I assume you celebrated the arrival of Sir Keir and his people as a new dawn for decency and fair governance. Now you are trying to come to terms with a pair of extremely wealthy politicians whose first action was to punish some of the least well off in society, presumably because of a convivtion that they were probably not well represented in the 19% of eligible voters who actually voted Labour. No wonder you are twisting like a corkscrew as you seek to justify their actions, to yourself if not to anyone else.

@Michael-fj4ol Yet you think that a creature like the Dear Leader, who actually has his DPP gold-plated pension protected by a specific Act of Parliament, cares a jot for the little people? He is a politician, not a decent human being.
