  1. The problem is that British Prime Ministers, from Blair onwards, have been happy to act as America's poodles. The next time the US decides to embark upon a half-baked, ill considered, foreign policy adventure, I hope that whoever the British PM is, the Harold Wilson/Vietnam option will be taken.
