That is the greatest thing I've read in days.

And Gruesome Newsom's "solution" is to use our tax money to pay for upgrades in each of the cities most affected by PG&E's nonsense. That guy is a piece of work.

@abn76280 Well, I live in Shasta County and have had my power shut off three times when there was (what we consider) moderate wind. I'm sorry that your frail, little narrative of "y'all aren't from there" fell apart but that's what happens when you make bold claims with no evidence. I've lived in different parts of the Northstate for the past 16 years. There's nothing new going on with the weather. PG&E has finally gotten nailed for pocketing money instead of repairing our infrastructure. So now, they're shutting us down every time two cows fart at the same time, to cover their asses and until very recently, the State has done virtually nothing to prevent it.

I'm a staunch Constitutionalist. Trust me, you want me to keep my voting habits.

We're in the midst of downsizing and getting the house ready to sell. I've found a State that checks all the boxes and doesn't seem to be on most Californians' radar (yet). I won't be sharing which one it is but I'm really looking forward to finding out what it's like to live in the US.

@dubreil07 So...better to move to a place with skyrocketing cost of living, record breaking homeless numbers, and uncontrollable crime rates? No thanks. I've lived in New York and Santa Barbara. Neither one was worth living in. Those of you who choose to stay in such places are welcome to keep pushing more laws to try (and fail) to control the problems inherent with those types of societies. I'll get out of your way and enjoy owning an even larger house on a bigger piece of property than I currently do. I'll try not to let it bother me, knowing that my lower taxes and bills will allow me to afford even longer vacations. Or that I'll be far less likely to come home to find my door kicked in and my TV missing. Oh, the humanity! 😂

@jimmymarin104 Sell everything you don't absolutely need, use the money to rent a smaller U-Haul truck, and buy new stuff when you get to a more affordable State. That's what we're doing. Anything we can't sell is going to Goodwill. It's time to cut and run.

I got around that (a little) by getting a '97 Suburban, instead of a pickup. No commercial plate and I still have a ton of cargo space. My registration fee is $87/year.
