Why should those without degrees pay for those that statistically make more then those without. Pay for their education. This is another example of the haves making the have nots pay for their spending. We must do far better. You as an adult agreed to take money in exchange for an education. You’re responsible for that loan. Not myself the stop out. This is gross.

Im not even a millionaire and I don’t think those without an education should pay for those with. This is absolute none sense. Trying to make this a billionaire against the little guy is completely dishonest. This all falls under stupid or liar. Pick one.

@summerfrisby none of that means the majority without a degree should pay for the degrees of the minorities. For a group all about fairness, how do you justify this? This all became a problem when our politicians thought they’d do a better job than the banks loaning money. I guess there is a reason we have credit checks and look into your grades prior to approval.

@itsbeebaby Nope, don’t agree with funding wars either. More libertarian in that respect. I would’ve spent the 1/10th of a Trillion dollars we have to the Ukraine and spent it on infrastructure. So Flint could have clean drinking water and parts of Ohio didn’t have to live in a 3rd world country. Try again.

@daveb7889 this is what happens when the government gives loans to kids, they have no business being in school, all in the name of equity. Banks couldn’t compete with the high risk loans and got out. The government kept lending money to kids that couldn’t right there name or count to 10. 30 years later the fortune 10 companies no longer require a degree and that value of the paper os damn near worthless. Unless you’re a doctor, engineer or attorney.

@danpham333 You’re proving my point. Neither are ok. Everyone should be responsible for themselves and the loans they take out. It doesn’t matter if you borrowed 5, 20 or 100k. You and you alone should be responsible for YOUR debt that YOU agreed to take on. Not those without said education. As far as business bailouts during COVID. One could argue. They didn’t want to shut down their businesses, the government forced them to. They also didn’t say, give me X amount of money and I’ll repay it, just to fight to have everyone else pay for it. Although I didn’t agree with it. The two are completely different.

@danpham333 They’re not buying diamonds. They’re taking vacations, leasing vehicles, buying food through Uber eats, financing “experiences” like going out. All to try and keep up with their peers doing the same. This leads nothing to save.

@danpham333 the older generation isn’t complaining. The younger generation that isn’t living outside their means. Owns a home and isn’t complaining. They’re too busy working and living. You think this is a tit for tat. I’m Just pointing out the countless examples I’ve personally lived while helping my employees with their finances. I’ve yet to see the example of a finically responsible young person that honestly believed they couldn’t but a home.

Wait…. The wealthy elites are trying to save the 85% from paying the debt of the less then 15% and this is bad?? For whom? Those with college degrees taking from those without? How tone deaf are you?
1
No one wants you to be in debt. We want you to be a person of your word and honor your agreement. We want you to be personally accountable and responsible for yourself and your decisions. No one forced this upon you. You had to go out if your way to go to college. The level of child like thinking is beyond my own children. These are sad and pathetic excuses for Americans.

This sounds like a movie where the evil rich elites twirl their mustache. Ironically enough, your message only helps them. Silly kids.

This is so far from any actual truths. This doesn’t lend to your credibility. This makes you government propaganda.
1
@itsbeebaby i don’t agree with either. Next argument. This problem got really bad when the government took over the banks for school loans and we changed acceptance based on your race.

@danpham333 so you don’t agree that two consenting adults should be allowed to freely barter without government oversight?? This is a “free market” in the truest form. What we have now, is corrupt capitalism. Where corporations lobby for regulations to suppress and hinder their smaller opponents. I don’t agree with anyone taking from anyone else to give to another. I personally think personal and business tax deductions for donating to local non-profits and other worthy causes to support the community. As opposed to our current and extremely wasteful system of allowing the government to take and distribute money. There still isn’t a good argument for the 82.6% of the population that doesn’t have student debt. Paying for the 17.4% who do. You as an adult narrowed money for whatever the reason. You should pay it back. If for no other reason personal accountability and responsibility.

@danpham333 yes, 98% of the loans were done by the government. We the people are the government. Not 17% of the populations higher earners by everyone else. The government isn’t a rich uncle. It’s our children’s future. They’re our dollars and they’re being wasted. I’m all for police, fire, infrastructure etc. I don’t agree with our current government education. By any metric available it’s been a complete failure at ever level. There needs to be competition. Or like health care, it will continue to get worse and more expensive. This is really basic economics. How about you give me 20k for my business? It’s a far better return than the 45 million loans we handed out to anyone with a pulse and twinkle in their eye. I’m guessing you got one of those “educations”. It explains the socialist indoctrination.

@danpham333 you know what prevents young people from owning homes? Living in debt outside their means. 748 average car payment. Credit card debt. Vacation. This is why they can’t afford a home. They’re unwilling to sacrifice looking wealthy. To ever become wealthy.
