That power, in the US, does not rest with god, but with insurance companies, who continue to not provide people with cover THAT THEY HAVE ACTUALLY PAID FOR.And the Republicans have managed to exclude end of life panels, which would have given patients the ability to determine when to stop having their lives artificially (and painfully) extended beyond its natural course, which, I may add, adds greatly to the cost.

@Cordantheman Actually supply side economics is only the start of it. They had to deregulate the banks and lower the interest rates because the economy was going badly... And so it kept on going.

@genie0390 Tax cuts only add to the treasury if taxes are WAY too high, so high as to discourage people from working.

The last thing the insurance companies want is to be regulated. They want to be able to refuse who they want, even IF THEY PAY THEIR PREMIUMS. The number of people who are EFFECTIVELY uninsured (ie, those who have their claims denied) is much higher than that.
