  4. If British farmers can't afford to feed their pigs, what is going to happen to African and Middle Eastern people who are living on less than a dollar a day? Personally, to me this feels kind of like the sudden price rise back in 06 when speculators jumped off subprime mortgage securities and went into speculation in grain futures contracts.

  6. Drought in America has meant that there is a global grain shortage, even though the El Nino cycle meant an increase of grain production in Australia and Eastern Asia.

  7. I think it also has a lot to do with caste. Sikhs are supposed to be strictly vegan though. I have worked as a security guard with a lot of Indians, and sometimes we had to share accommodation, so I learned about their eating habits.
