Looks like he is first going to get rid of priestly corruption, and then it will simply be a matter of showing how rich all those Pentacostals are getting, and pointing to the bible showing exactly where this is against the preachings of Jesus. Also, by doing more social work and funding more education, it will make sure the next generation will be either catholic or nothing. The Church also owns a lot of profitable businesses.If the profits are used wisely, there will be no problem financially

  5. There are some expenses that are unavoidable. The Pope is a huge terrorist target, so the popemobile and security are understandable. And the church is a huge organisation, so a staff is justified. The Catholic Church is a very wealthy organisation, and there is a lot of potential for corruption. However, they do a lot of charity work, unlike those Prosperity Gospel televangelists...

  6. The church will be fine, they will sell off their disused churches (many are on very valuable land) and they also own a LOT of other businesses.

  7. That was Pope Ratzinger, not the current pope, the current pope won't wear the jewels and won't sit on the gold throne and refuses to wear the crown. He only goes out in his white robe.
