  4. "the universe had a beginning" was only logical. Everything has a beginning. You don't need to be Einstein to know that. And you know what? EVERY OTHER RELIGION ALSO BELIEVES THAT THE UNIVERSE HAD A BEGINNING (although they have different stories about how it began).

  5. It was a reaction to the rather left wing catholic policy of providing free education, which the KKK did not like. This was not about providing free education, that already existed. This was about CONTROLLING free education (making sure the catholics don't do things like allow evolution to be taught (catholics had no problems about teaching science at this time))

  7. There are hundreds of ways to get deposition of sediment before a plant or animal rots. Annual floods, tsunamis, avalanches, low oxygen dead zones. Getting stuck in mud. Getting stuck in resin that becomes amber. Anerobic swamps (much more common in the carboniferous era) If the bible was right, there would be ONE, and ONLY ONE layer of fossils, nothing above, and nothing below. But there are fossils throughout the geological column, in many layers and many kinds of sedimentary rock.
