  1. @XoblivioX It might not be a matter of lower energy costs, it might simply be a matter of energy costs not rising as much as they would have otherwise.The costs are already soaring, even without shutting down one coal plant and replacing it with wind and geothermal and solar.

  2. @TheChunkyAtheist Your rich neighbor is not "rich" compared to the ones who are damaging the economy. Your rich neighbor is doing what SHOULD be done in such an economy, and such investment should be rewarded. Unfortunately, the ones who are benefiting most from the system have learned that this is not the easiest, and most assured way of making money.

They are "investing"the money in dirivitives, many of them are self inflating and only result in inflating artificially the price of whatever the commodity the dirivitive is based on, especially oil, of which 30% of the price is profiteering and speculation.
