@tehant1liberal It was the regulators who were trying to get them to install the safety measures. If the coal companies listened, the disasters would not have happened. Probably didn't because they took out some dead peasant insurance.

@ThePrideOfAlabama ok, then, tell us all. What are the facts as YOU see them?

@genie0390 It is about harm minimisation. The regulators told them to take certain steps, because they knew that a fire would happen, and these people did not take those steps. Mine accidents happen, yes, but letting an accident happen when you KNOW you can avoid it and KNOW it is inevitable, is murder.

@luvcheney1 Have you lived in a town near where they have strip mining? The air is toxic, the water is undrinkable. Cadmium, lead, mercury and other toxic metals are in dangerous levels. People get sick in these places, and you want to deny them healthcare.

Stripes do nothing for his physique. If he cared for the health and safety of his miners, he would have installed those lifesaving measures. A fraction of that 24 million dollars would have done it.

@luvcheney1 Manslaughter at least. Do you know what the most anti-union thing you can do is? Make sure that the workers are not dying due to gross negligence. Workers afraid of being killed are most likely to try to form unions.
