@TulipXX actually, they get a LOT of anatomy training as part of their physical training, so they know when they push themselves too far.. So they probably know more than most nondoctors.

@Wolfau5 If you took ONE hedgefund manager (they often get paid a billion dollars a year) you could pay the wages of the WHOLE NFL, NBA, Major League Baseball, and the NHL. And compared to Glenn Beck's wages, most pro athletes get paid a pittance.

@StealOnU The Thought Police, that is who watches for that kind of thing. There are people who want to ensure complete obedience and subserviance, and this obedience is usually to themselves.

@Wolfau5 The money would be just going to the owners anyway. American football teams are for profit enterprises. So the players get paid what the market demands... It is a form of wealth distribution. Those players are entertainers, nothing different than movie stars. For many of them, this is their only way out of poverty. And if they get paid so much, they are entitled to it, but should be paying their fair share of tax on it. Far different from robber barons who trick the system for profit.

@llamahamfat Look at the range that you need to sing it properly... It is a huge range, you have to go like two octaves to singe it properly, and most singers either try to grind the bottom note or screech the top note... It used to be a drinking song.

They have just done their warmup, all their stretches and stuff, and then they have to stand still for one or two minutes and listen to the national anthem... I mean, I am no athlete or personal trainer or anything, but that has to really mess with the physiology...

@Nayr747 That is why there are TAXES.If they earn so much,then they should be taxed. It is OK for some people to be rich,but these people should pay a bit more for the privelege. Even at 75%, Johnny Depp is still taking home $25 million,the amount of tax he is paying is not really affecting his lifestyle all that much. What Depp does is sell tickets.That is adding value to whatever movie he is in. What I object to is hedgefund managers who trick the system,do huge damage and score billions.
