  2. That is how it was done in about 1950. Since then, they worked out how to do it far more profitably by using chemicals, and it's never oil that's fracked, it's always gas.

  3. The main problem concerning drinking water is not polluted drinking water coming to consumers, but massive amounts of water being pumped into the ground, and therefore becoming comprehensively unusable.

Tyler Hurson and it is hard to have a controlled experiment, when geology wildly differs and some wells in some areas that are sunk into shale naturally emit methane. The bigger problem is that it is incredibly hard to know exactly what is happening so deep underground, and they are using vast amounts of good quality water to do it, which means that it can't be used for agriculture and cities because it has been filled with chemicals and pumped underground.
