Yup, a fundamental tenant of their religion is remaining apart from those with different beliefs. This is pretty common in most religions, but Islam seems to take it a lot more seriously. How the various sub-groups treat this differs of course - you get those who are happy to work and socialise with others - and you get the radicals who think others should convert or die - but there are very few, if any who will integrate fully - they want apartheid.

Like anything HR related, the "Whistle blowing" rules are there to protect the organisation, not the employee. Never... never.. trust anything relating to HR - the clue is in the name - we are a "resource" to be exploited and disposed of when we are no longer of any use.

@Curiouscatnap I'd say Sharia law is pretty extreme right, to the point of Sharia nations mostly being theocratic fascist states - I mean maiming, torturing and/or killing people for breaking sometimes even fairly minor laws is hard right for starters.

The level of entitlement on display is crazy.

LMFAO, my utterly centrist comment got removed, probably because I used "unacceptable words". I despair at the world we live in now.

Exactly - it's an unfortunate part of human nature to pick on "the other" - I lived as a white kid in a mostly Samoan and Tongan neighborhood when I was a kid - I was regularly subjected to racist abuse - but the Tongans also abused the Samoans, and the Samoans abused the Tongans too. Human nature.

I loved her comment saying cricket is expensive to get into... you can literally pick up a cricket set from the store here for $50NZD - that's less than 25 pounds. Sure it's a shit set, but it's enough to get you started and find out if you are interested in it. I was dirt poor growing up - we always had a cricket bat and some balls to knock around. Every school I ever went to, even the poor ones, had wickets, bats, balls, pads and a big enough field to play on. I can't tell you why it's not super popular with people of African decent - but as a kid all my Indian mates were mad on it - and some of them were extremely dark skinned - so I don't think it has anything to do with skin pigmentation...

@musicfuhrer As someone who has never seen or heard of the guy before - he came across to me as one of the best, most balanced, most informed interviewees this channel has had on that I've watched so far. I can only presume you know more about him than I do.

Best. Interview. Ever. Dr. Persaud is a wonderful speaker - knowledgeable, factual, and sensible.

Well, I don't think it is by design - but it is convenient for the wealthy and powerful to have an endless stream of cheap labor coming into the country to replace the existing, comparatively expensive and demanding labor force - so the people in power have no reason to want to stop this flow of cheap labor, when it's making them richer - so for them, it's a happy coincidence to have loads of countries in the world that are such s**t holes that even working like a slave in another country to make some rich a**h*le even richer seems like paradise to escape to.

@jwsuicides8095 The other one I hate hearing all the time is "survivor" when it just isn't the correct term - As an example one that was on the news here recently - "Survivor of state-care" - you survive a car accident, you survive someone attempting to murder you, you survive serous cancer - you may have suffered in state care, but that doesn't mean you can abuse the English language and say you are a "survivor" - unless say, most of the other people in the same care facility of you actually died for some reason.
3
@jamesmccaul2945 I don't like their music either, but music is very subjective - hating on people for the music they like or produce is a bit narrow minded.

Wow, do they really still have the broadcasting license fee in the UK? They got rid of it here in little old NZ many years ago! Of course they replaced it with hefty government funding of our state owned broadcasters - but in general, it did improve the quality of those broadcasters.
3
The left don't want equality any more - they don't even use the word anymore - now they use the word "equity" - which really means a reversal - so there is still inequality, but it's turned on its head.

@ffswhatisitNOW Indeed, she has no idea what she is talking about - her parents were wealthy, not working multiple jobs like actual working class people have to do to survive - I'm sure her Mum and Dad saw her talent and did everything they could to encourage it, using the luxuries that time and money afforded them to do so. She's just young and indoctrinated into the current victim zeitgeist.

Pretty sure the left/right hemisphere being responsible for artistic/logical thinking stuff was debunked many years ago (before wokism)? Much as I agree woke is bullshit, and agree with some of what he says (though he's an anti-materialist which is an illogical position) - he seems to be clinging to disproven theories to support his own hypothesis? That's not helpful as it makes his point of view easy to undermine.
1
Straight off the bat, pun intended - her comments on cricket being a rich white person sport show her internal cognitive bias. Look at the top 10 teams in the word cricket rankings right now and tell me only rich white people play cricket! I mean, it's literally the national sport of Jamaica FFS!

@Yggdrasil1844 Bet I earn less than she does a year, and less people listen to what I say, that's for sure. Guess that means I'm oppressed too? Oddly though I'm quite happy with my life...

@Coffeeisnecessarynowpepper Nah, he's just an a*sehole.

On the "where is red" question - well like anything understood by the brain, as Sagan said in Cosmos (in that case discussing the concept of the number "one") - it has an elaborate logical underpinning - constructed in links between neurons developed through experience. We know this is a fact because neural connections forming conceptual learning has been studied extensively - it IS a proven physical thing - someone looking at the colour red when under a brain scan will exhibit specific neural activity as the neurons associated with the concept "red" are triggered. It's not really any kind of debate - it's evidenced fact. Indeed you could extend the argument against the Idealist view that if consciousness is not a product of the function of the brain, without the brain having these evidenced mechanisms to produce thought - how would a consciousness think? I.e. without the neurons that can trigger to recognise "red" - how would a disembodied consciousness know what red was?

@judyapple3266 No, it's definitely far right. It's easy to get them confused because they both abuse people in different ways, and they are both cults. Far left leans towards communism, where religion as a belief in deities is outlawed and the state becomes the godhead - generally capital punishment is outlawed and criminals are "rehabilitated" through various usually ineffective means. Far right, the supreme leader is the godhead, religion is accepted or even encouraged/enforced and used as a tool for control - capital punishment is usually applied vigorously.
1
@KyriaNunNuit That's where the fuzzy dichotomy kicks in - these generally started out as left wing communist revolutions to overthrow the right wing nationalist dictatorships, but ended up as extreme nationalistic dictatorships just with different people running the show - thus the "hard to tell the difference" at the really extreme ends of the spectrum.

@rottsandspots This is one of my favorites - especially since my incredibly woke brother in law hates it... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RovF1zsDoeM
1
@rottsandspots Oh sure, abuse and even outright murder of the elderly in homes is a real problem - this particular news article was referring to now middle aged adults who were brought up as children in state care and suffered various horrific forms of abuse (that were not fatal). I imagine you could argue that some of them probably committed suicide or died from drug or alcohol abuse, and therefore the rest are survivors - but the new article gave no information on this and just called them survivors with no context.

It's not that hard - was she born with and does she currently have a wang or a vag? If she has a vag from birth and still has a vag, - then anything else she has is just her natural advantage - which is probably what brought her into boxing in the first place - and that's, sorry, hard luck for other competitors. If she's taking drugs of some sort that are messing with her natural body chemistry - well then of course that's unfair. TLDR? IMO she's a woman and this "The BBC lied!" thing is clickbait, and I thought you were better than that.
1
You shouldn't feel embarrassed, nobody should associate you with this entitled child just because you both share similar skin pigmentation. Anyone that does associate you with her for those reasons - well that is real racism - not what she's on about.
1
@shadowbeastie As long as you can back it up with reasoned argument, it is not ad hominem.
1
@DanHowardMtl Because the Youtube algorithm will demonetize and shadow ban the video otherwise. It already deleted my earlier reply here, which didn't contain any "bad" words, but I guess it decided it was too non progressive or something. It's really getting ridiculous.

Oh yeah, Cricket is definitely one of those sports only rich white people play... that's why it's so unpopular in poorer countries with few white people, like India, Pakestan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, South Africa... oh wait, all those teams are in the top 10 in the world... hmm, she might have to rethink her paradigm I think...
1
The "world" seems to hate white working and middle class family men at the moment unfortunately.

IMO a big part of it is the "anti-western colonialism" doctrine present in the left currently - anything related to white colonisation is considered evil - any culture that counters this is considered virtuous. The irony being is of course, Islam was one of the great colonisers for centuries - and was generally more oppressive, brutal and genocidal than for example, the British or even the French - maybe not the Spanish... but you can even blame the way the Spanish were based on what they had to deal with from the Muslims during the dark ages. The only reason the Islamic conquerors stopped is because they got to a point where they were no longer winning - otherwise I'm sure we'd all be praying to Mecca and living in the dark ages instead of enjoying a comfortable lifestyle and having these kinds of discussions - but hey, western colonialism is all bad, right?

White working class dude born in 1975 - for the first 11 years of my life my Dad worked as a groundsman in affluent white suburbs - we were the poor people in a rich neighborhood - all my friends were from families with huge houses and swimming pools - we lived in a basic home provided by the bowling or golf club Dad was working for at the time. Then Dad lost his job due to being drunk on the job, and we moved to a Polynesian neighborhood - and I found out about racism - being that I was the one who was singled out, abused, bullied and beaten for the colour of my skin. This stuff is part of human nature - part of tribalism - it's sad but it's true - yet now only white people can be racist.

I've always had a spooky sense of time - e.g. always wake up just before the alarm and can then usually countdown the seconds until it goes off to within a fraction of a minute without looking. I guess it's a not entirely useless superpower to have 😀

Yes, never understood that older people aren't included in advertising more - I have two very wealthy aunts in their 70's - they have piles of disposable money yet nobody is trying to get it except scammers.

What we are seeing now is the downfall of our civilisation. It's happened before, it will happen now, it will happen again. Future generations will reminisce on how things could have been better if only we'd known...

I don't think Elon Musk is an anti-Semite - I do think he's a scam artist, liar, and pretty unintelligent - but I wouldn't label him an anti-Semite.
1
@paulwally9007 Every Muslim I've ever interacted with in a meaningful way have all been without exception decent human beings - that doesn't make the ideology any less appalling - bear in mind I think all Abrahamic religions are founded on appalling ideology that promotes extremist thinking - fortunately it's only a subset of humanity that are prone to falling for extremist thinking.

She didn't do that - she was identified as female on her birth certificate. This comes down to some kind of developmental anomaly. The fact is even if she has a "micropenis" (which is pure speculation on the part of the interviewee here) - she also has a vagina - she is incapable of acting as a penetrator in intercourse, and is capable of being a penetratee. She seemingly has some naturally born advantages in her chosen sport due to her developmental abnormalities - that doesn't make her a man - she not only was born a woman, but she identifies as a woman.
1
The "big problem of our time" for us (the West) is mass and mass illegal immigration - but it's a symptom of the root cause - which is people fleeing their homelands - which are almost invariably, at least outside of the USA - horrifically oppressive Islamic states. Ergo, the problem comes back to Islamism being, overall, a force of destruction in our world. If those countries were all peaceful liberal secular states - people wouldn't be trying to get away from them.
