@Erectmygreenhouse does your greenhouse float?

There's only so many names they seem to call ships in the RN.

'Global Britain' means if you close your eyes and simply wish the RN had three times the ships menas it magically becomes true! Especially if you get rid of more ships or keep them in port.

@Land-of-reason What terrifies you about asylum seekers exactly? Do they threaten you daily?
1
@skysurferuk Maybe the strain on the infrastructure is down to years and years of underfunding rather than migration. Migration adds to the economy. Plus, they can man the navy which we all appear to want to increase.

@georgebarnes8163 You should read the law on asylum to see what's legal or not.
1
@georgebarnes8163 George - what are your sources?
1
@georgebarnes8163 If you don't personally recognise someone's right to claim asylum then that doesn't matter. The law matters. There are measures in law to determine who is an asylum seeker and who is a migrant. Now, what you state above is not the law.
1
@georgebarnes8163 Why? Because you can't be bothered or because no source exists to back up your claim? It's really easy to Google this stuff.
1
@georgebarnes8163 Clown is it? You Googled and found your case lacks merit? That's a start. Now explain why you dislike migrants. Have they hurt you? If so, how?

@georgebarnes8163 In law (1951 UN Convention on Refugees,) there is no penalty to those seeking asylum if they enter the UK illegally. Furthermore, UK case law (EWHC Admin 765 (29th July, 1999)) allows refugees to pass through safe countries before seeking asylum in the UK. Immigration officials, the Home Office and UK law decide if asylum claims are granted. Whilst in the EU the UK could deport failed asylum seekers back to the country they first passed through in the EU as part of the Dublin Agreement. This can still happen though by arrangement, yet the UK is now a third country. The UK is no longer part of EURODAC or CEAS. The UK is currently introducing The Nationality and Borders Bill which seeks to address asylum claims, making it more difficult to seek asylum in the UK. However, try and understand how EU nations view UK laws after the UK has voted to leave the EU and most of its various laws. Already, several major EU nations have said they won't have bilateral asylum returns with the UK. There is a deal with Albania though.

@georgebarnes8163 The issue with immigration is much the same with the reasons behind Brexit. Various politicians, newspapers and figures will seek to blame problems on foreign people, because is successful, then push through laws which do not benefit you or I and do not slow asylum seekers or migrants in any way. These people and wealthy media barons know all this, yet they also know if they whip up a frenzy against foreigners they can become wealthier and more powerful at the expense of those they misinform. The UK is still a rich country yet this wealth is not utilised for infrastructure like the NHS, social care, education, employment rights and our environment. We've just witnessed a big tax rise and benefit cut that hits the less well-off rather than the rich... yet if you're more concerned with foreigners - fine. Just get rich if you can; maybe become a fisherman, farmer or doctor.

@seanmoran6510 I have posted about the legal position. If you don't like it or don't believe it then say so; though I do appreciate that it is easier to call people names and attack them personally that find out the truth.

@tams805 Immigrants I wouldn't actually bother making the Navy much bigger, UK can't afford it unless we radically change (for the better).

@HMS King George V You are way off. You'll claim the USN has 300 odd deployable ships yet they have a reserve, plus the US total tonnage and capability is ten times the RN more likely.

@adamatch9624 I'm joking,
