  6. Moses wanted to control his unruly people so he made up 10 commandments and (being a stone mason) carved them onto a stone slab. He then took the slab up a mountain, set fire to a bush and returned saying 'God' has given you a sign and sent you these commandments. Muhammad copied the idea of a 'God', to gain control of his people. After that religion took hold and although false, has been difficult to disprove (until now).
