Because of the remnants of capitalism that the Western world still has, we're developing better tech and ways of producing goods and better ways of providing services. The NZD is falling versus NZ housing prices, consumer goods, corporation prices and more. The NZ'D' is mostly increasing in value versus other Western fiat currencies like the US'D' because up until recently, they all had far stricter policies to deal with the global feardemic and they printed up far more than the NZ Reserve Bank to make up for less production they had.
