Pope Pius XII's apostolic letter documenting the consecration of the Russians to the Immaculate Heart was dated Jul 7, 1952, and Stalin, the persecutor of the Church, resigned from his post on October 16, 1952, the same year of that encyclical, and he died the following year, March 5, 1953. There is absolutely no doubt that this consecration was done successfully by Pius XII.
