Viktor Fedorovych Yanukovych was president of Ukraine in November 2013 and Russia was happy with his deal with Shell. Additionally, the pro-Russian interviewee claimed that Ukrainians are less deserving of their natural resources, oil, coal and gas - in particular - because they weren't doing anything with them or on top of the land they're found in. He said the post-Viktor Fedorovych Yanukovych Ukrainians were essentially sitting on the resources of those lands without drilling, mining, extracting and processing them because they wished to wait until they were members of the EU and then give the EU the work of attracting companies to do the job and to just pay the Ukrainian government tax to do so (and from its earning etc.).

Japan has heaps, loads and tonnes of natural resources but Japan's natural resources aren't the reason for it becoming incredibly wealthier over a fairly short period of time. The land of Japan actually has far, far, far more natural resources than Russia per square kilometre but Russia has few people per square kilometre and therefore a lavish level of natural resources per Russian. Switzerland, likewise, also has more natural resources and better geographical positioning than many/MANY European countries but Switzerland's natural resources aren't the reason for its wealth, CAPITALISM is!!! Capitalist economics and philosophy naturally, naturalistically leads to people becoming wealthy.

@maritaschweizer1117 If we're only talking about Russia and the EU, Russia's oil is right next to the EU countries and is easier to access than Venezuela's less reliable oil that is far away.

I don't agree with everything they all said but they all appeared to be polite, 'nice' people who would be pleasant to work with.
