Has Rowan ever left the city?
Because he seems to think the countryside is free range. It's not.
The country is just a bunch of peoples properties.
They are all separated by individual boundaries and a Highway is usually a boundary. You drive on the highway, you can go in a straight line. It's a fence left of you and a fence right of you, and someone owns that land and you will be trespassing if you go upon it. Even when there is no farms and no sign of anything in a landscape, someone still usually owns that land.
Billionaires buy huge chunks of land in Australia and just wait for the right time to utilise the resources at their leisure.
Also, it's not like I could take the family camping at Pine Gap. I would need my passport, and a security clearance and that is US soil apparently.
You can only freely attend government land, that is open to the public. Towns, Parks, lakes, rivers, highways, and non private land. That's where you are kind of free. At least half of Australia is off limits.
Australia is more limited than you think.
