  2. This started before women went into service jobs. Like way before. If you look at when birth rates started to decline you are going back to the 1800s. It just didn't become relevant until it went below repopulation rate in th 80s. Keep in mind before the baby boom (caused by more surviving babies) in Europe more than half the countries going into WW1 where already below repopulation rate. That was way before women started to work in large numbers. North Korea has this problum due to sheer starvation. Not women not wanting to have kids.
