  3.  @sumit1997  it is not an intellectual depth that was lacking. We Indians proved that we are more cunning than our politicans. We do better corruption than them. Somebody with 100 crore of black money will pay 50% to a 20th century middle class bank manager, a Gandhian possibly, and take the rest. Corruption is in our blood. Modi is nothing. Anyway, digital money will slowly eradicate our corruptions. And low income tax rates.

  4.  @sumit1997  it needs good intent and inner conviction to do demonization. Maybe it is a mistake, but the intent resonated with the masses. People, who in the 70 years of Indian independence never had access to banks and investment instruments. Demonization might have ruined Indian economy, 2% point loss in GDP. But these 2% never payed any tax. And it created the Teflon coating on Mr modi. The incorruptible image.

  5. Okay, journalists. Let's us define what is secularism first. Or is it pluralism you meant, tolerant to diverse cultures and values. But then, all humans might have equal rights and privileges, but not all cultures are equal. Ask talibans. Ask a Buddhist. Ask a Jain. Ask a Dalit. Ask a Christian. Ask a true believer of Arabic Prophet. Genital mutilations, both male and females are good cultures, deserve respect? What about wife beating? What about public executions? What about chopping hands of thieves? What about polygamy? Why don't you so called secularists write opinion peace on them. Maybe, 20th century middle class, the educated variety is obsolete.
