The greatest physicist born in the subcontinent, bigger then all others, was a muslim and Ahmadiyya and a Pakistani by choice. Whom Pakistani rejected for being a Ahmadiyya. Prof Abdus Salam. The Gujarati speaking heros of the series were not even comparable to this man in achievement, in stature, in world recognition and contributions to Physics. Such is the narrow world view of the Gujarati speaking makers of the film. Dark skin, Non Gujarati, Muslim and Communist. If you get into any physics research labs of this country today...it is not Gujarati..but people from the dark skinned world - Tamilnadu and Bengal. One suggestion, for all neo intellectual Indians, It is good to stay with money and jugar ...let not get into higher human thinking like physics and communism.

In 1992, MSc Physics students in Calcutta University were still using the book written by Prof Saha as the book on "Heat". A masterpiece by itself. Not sure, if it still continues as the reference book now. What a tragedy.

@Rahul-bq6qy don't jump to conclusions. The film has made certain choices, in creating a fictitious man, dark skinned, a scientist, a Muslim, a partition sympathizer, Jinnah lover, a non Gujarati as a bad guy...in a historical non fictitious storyline with real characters...that too stealing almost everything from a real scientist of some pedigree. Why is the question? Is it a reflection of some ideology, some nazi like superiority complex? It would he okay, not to involve historical characters and make the film completely fictitious. But it is not. That is the question.

@Rahul-bq6qy about communism. Again jumping to conclusions. I personally detest communist, and see it only as a political too to acquire power. But, it's theory, non political ones, has stronger foundation. That's all. All political organizations world wide since Das Kapital has since turned socialist some why or the other, with values derived from that revolution. It is good to read its theory and contemplate the values it is talking about.

@Rahul-bq6qy the word Nation means people of certain ethnicity or culture. It is different from "country". Nation state is different from Nation. India is a country, possibly encompassing a civilizational geography, possibly multi civilizational. It is also a Multi Nation state. Note, there is no word for either Nation or Nation-state in Indian languages. For some, it is like club membership. Millions of educated Indians since 2000 CE has abandoned Indian citizenship for the riches of the western world. Currently 1 in every 10 doctor in the US is of ethnic Indian origion. Telling us the most educated has other definitions. In my personal opinion, India is something like an EU, it is not similar to England or Italy or France or Germany or Japan. Not even like the US.

@Rahul-bq6qy we all have multiple identities. Some are transient while some other are permanent. A man is a man, and not a woman. An identity, possibly a permanent one. A man's mother tongue is Kashmiri An identity. A man is born in certain city or village. An identity. A man is born into a religion. An identity. A man changes his religion consciously. A new identity. A man is a dalit. An identity. A man is a Priest. An identity. A man is a football lover. An identity. A man associates with certain culture and tradition. An identity. A man is from Punjab. An identity. A man has a political viewpoint and ideology. An identity. A man is a citizen of a modern republic and a nation-state, is also an identity. Possible the newest one, and completely a political one. And sometimes some identities plays stronger than the other, depends on the situation and the surroundings you are in. Again don't jump to conclusions. I do not support the politics and the world views of either the communists, or Miss Mamata or Miss Mayawati or DMK or Shiv Sena :-)

@Rahul-bq6qy it may be an outdated philosophy, but during the industrial revolution, people were working more than 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. And then the bonded labours and farmers in india till the other day. It is easy to curse it now. But it has its glory days. And relevant days too. Be humble please.

@Rahul-bq6qy the film is about identities. The comment is on that. And india as a nation state, is too modern to make any conclusions. That too a multi-nation state.
1
@Rahul-bq6qy nation is a identity? Or a political ideology? Too recent ideology to make sweeping statements

@Rahul-bq6qy when did I say I dislike Homi Bhabha or Vikram Sarabhai. It is the comment on the film. And our modern narrow world view. Not sure if you had studied higher physics to understand and comprehend Prof Abdul Salam's work. Or Ramanujan.

@Rahul-bq6qy well Reza is not the problem. But using all the things from Prof Meghnath Saha on him is a issue. It is like using all the stuff from Mohandas Gandhi in a fictitious film and make him a British spy. Objectionable, isn't it.

@Rahul-bq6qy :-) well I am not an economist. But there are social dimension as well in the movement. Feudal societies vs egalitarian ones. Fundamental human rights for All humans vs the elites. As a matter of fact. Mr Modi, is more socialist, a more true socialist than all the certified communists in India.

Add dark skin to this myopia, SG 😞 Underlying the great racist mindset of Indian people 😞 It felt so disgusting and disappointing. One can add a Gujarati dimension as well, the heroes speaks Gujarati. Yes, it is a crime against history and a personality.
