  1. Not driven since we arrived in Portugal. A much less stressful experience. Uber/Bolts are plentiful. We're about 40mins from Central Lisbon by car or about an hour by train and ferry which is a very pleasant experience bobbing on the river with Lisbon in the background. Also nice to use electric bikes or scooters. We're currently in an easy walking flat city... a nice experience walking 10,000 steps per day to the local cafes/parks and restaurants or to the local beaches. Just the life we wanted. A car would dramatically complicate our lives.

  3. Just live in a city with great transport infrastructure - plenty of very safe cities around the world. We chose a flat, easy-walking city with trains, buses and great uber service.
