Traditional architecture is a testament to what true diversity looks like. Its the unique differences from the various locations/regions that give them their identity. Diversity is not mix matching a bunch of different types of stone in one building (that would not be a stabilized structure), its ensuring a variety of cultures and customs that remain around the world. I don't want a sterile, bland, muddy society that cant be differentiated from another. Ppl are different and unique because of their own separate societies that are explicitly theirs.

I love how architects and urban designers are encouraged to be artistic and creative yet all they create is mundane, conformist drivel that is unoriginal and lifeless. Traditional architecture was artful and beautiful. Modern/post modern society supposedly values creativity but they destroyed beauty in the process.

Make Germany beautiful again, make Germany German again.

"why does everything need to be similar" do you seriously not see the irony in that statement? The whole purpose of having locally sourced architecture is that it doesn't look similar to other nations architecture. Modern architecture is the same no matter what country you go to. He already explained this.

Traditional architecture is the only architecture that is beautiful. I agree with you however that since the community itself doesn't live there, it ain't actually theirs. Which is a problem.
2
But is it affordable? Because as much as I like evolving traditionalist living to a modern era, if it isn't affordable then it's simply a beautiful but unattainable dream.
2
But modern architecture is bad, it's made because its cheaper and not for any functional reason. Classical buildings are not just more practical than modern buildings, they are the only buildings which can converted into something else at a later date should the initial purpose become obsolete. The same can't be said more modern architecture. New York can't convert most of its post war modern architecture buildings into residential property because of the way it was designed. However, classical style buildings in New York can and have been converted.
2
Communist countries preserved as well as built alot of classical buildings. Most classical countries today that don't look so monotone and have this more traditional layout are post Soviet states...
2
Contemporary/modern architecture is soul crushing. Mass immigration is crushing housing options and raising prices (not to mention culturally replacing the Dutch). And globalist developers are dangerous elites who dont want traditional and national distinctions because they want to erode nationalism in the spirit of ppls.
2
Nah. We need conservative, traditional views of planning to return with a modern implementation. Reject modernity, embrace tradition. If everyone did this, things would not be so expensive and crime would not be so common.

If your manager sees you out and about, that's because they aren't working either. Why would an employee need to play hooky? Is it because Americans don't get paid time off for sick leave and vacation days? Yes. The answer is yes.

You may need to get an eye exam.

@agitohd you say "dated" as if it's a bad thing. And you say "modern times" as if that's a good thing. I'm not sure why.
1
@agitohd have you learned nothing from the 20th century? Aesthetics do have an important function.
1
@agitohd those buildings served a need at the time. But they were cramped and they were ugly.
1
@Chris-55 the exact same thing as what?
1
I was wondering that.

Careful saying that in Germany, the self hating government will call you a Notzi and have you arrested for hate speech.
1
No. Definitely not.

He paid for it with the money of the British ppl, on the land that belongs to the British ppl, who made his vision a reality. Without labor, his vision would be no different than mine: a thought on a page.
1
That's my first fear.
1
Its not peer pressure from the dead... Its centuries of age old truisms and experience passed down generation to generation so no one has to start from scratch.
1
Modern does = ugly. Unless the modern building is created to look traditional.

This place is exceptionally beautiful, but it's also exclusively for the rich. Because it's bought and built by/for the rich. Sure, many people may come and window shop, many people may come and buy a few things perhaps. But do they live in that town? Do they work there? No? Then it's still only for the rich. Residents themselves, through community trusts, and through local, state or federal government, should own the land... To be use for the people by the people. Not for the rich by the rich.
1
So much of this is valuable and would greatly improve human society. My only concern is immigration. Immigration makes all these ideas meaningless. Ppl make the place, change the ppl, change the place. These beautiful cities and architecture only work if they are monocultural/homogeneous.
1
It matters who lives there. Is it British working people or is it immigrants of various nationalities who are destroying and ruining Britain? And is it only for rich ppl?
1
Exactly, it's only relatable to "western whites" because despite our recent failures, all the wonderful stuff we have (like indoor plumbing you were talking about) exists because western whites invented it and created the standards to ensure it was installed appropriately.

Only if it ceases to be Muslim. If it becomes Constantinople again, then it's possible.
1
"Isn't it just nostalgia"... Yes. But so what? Its nostalgic for a reason, because its better. The old community/village is the superior way of existing. Conservatives are right about that. What socialists get right is that these communities are only good with proper planning and investment along with genuine power belonging in the residents themselves.
1
That's crazy, for me and most ppl, aesthetics is the core problem.
1
Beauty is not in the eye of the beholder. That is a liberal lie. Beauty is regularly quantified and generally reveals consistent patterns of shared belief.
