  2. Crows kick their fledgling out of the nest before they are able to fly. It's a survival of the fittest tactic that the parents do. The parents will bring food and dive bomb anything that gets near the fledgling. It may take a few days or even a few weeks for the fledgling to fly on its own once its kicked out of the nest. This ensures only the strong survive to adulthood. Crows are an amazingly prolific species! One major reason is the strict adherence to the rules of the flock. This has allowed them flourish along side humans. Something must have happened to the parents. I've seen entire flocks protect a fledgling before. Something may have been wrong with the fledgling that the rest of the flock rejected it. Humans are kind. Nature is cruel.
